I completely understand you 'giving in' in the middle of the night. The only thing that crossed my mind when I read your post, is that it may be confusing telling him it is all-gone, yet then hey presto! it's there in the night when he makes a fuss.

I did think that myself and it's what I said to OH... for the first couple of hours. I wish there was a simpler solution!
Have only had to distract twice so far today.0 -

SB - Enjoy your peace and quiet while it lasts:D
Sorry to those who are having bad nights:( I am NOTt bragging here, or rubbing your noses in it, but Kai is sleeping superbly! Last night saw bottle at 8pm, bed at 9pm slept through till 6.30am.....However the downside to this, yes, there is a downside...is the fact that he has been so unsettled since Sunday, He is obviously very hungry through the day as he is sleeping so much at night and was draining 5oz bottles so I started making 6oz but he just couldn't seem to fit any more into his tiny tummy, and was therefore hungry again quite quickly. I have made the decision, and swapped him to the hungry baby milk now. This means a few days of unsettled, constipated baby, but hopefully he will settle on it ok:)
oh yeah, we have also had two massive gummy smiles off him today:D:D

Also he's now pointing at everything which is new, and he can tell you that a cow goes "mooooo". Am very pround of my clever little man :TDON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I'm glad to say Elliot is feeling a lot better now, not 100% but he's getting there.
He's doing really well at sitting up by himself now, i've been helping him practice for a few weeks and he's just suddenly found his balance....i'm so proud of him!
keely.
ps-i highly doubt, even after time, I will feel broody again...i never wanted a big family lol.Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0 -
Wow, everyone seems to be experiencing lots of new things, all at once.
nadnad, it's lovely when they start talking, isn't it? We've been doing baby sign languauge so alongside the words we're getting signs as well. We went to the coast on Sunday and it was freezing and Tom signed "cold" for the first time. The face he pulled was so funny we've spent the last two days saying to him "Are you cold, Tom?" so he'll do it again. It never gets any less funny!
He understands so many words now as well, but it's hard to say whether it's the word or sign that he knows as I do them both together. Funnily enough (or not!) a lot of the words he knows are types of food and he can find the right place to find each of them as well. Oh, and he's just learned "NO" accompanied by a very emphatic head shake - I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of that one!0 -
Not sure if anyone is watching this tonight but my (half) cousin, Raithe, is in it.
They filmed quite a lot of him but I think they cut most of it and focused more on Alex, another primordial dwarve from Liverpool.
Extraordinary People, channel 5 at 9pm! I love my gorgeous little girl0
