Sorry to hear about your dog Sami. It's really hard when they have to leave us, but I'm sure she a fabulous life and she's grateful to you and your family for that.
Pleased the cancer treatement went ok bailey and hope you recover soon. It must be so scary and I can't even imagine how you must be feeling *hugs*
Tummy time - Charlotte hated being on her tummy at first. She was born with a full head of hair but used to do to "swimming" on her back on the floor and she ended up with a bald spot on the back of her head where she rubbed all her hair out
I wouldn't worry about eating overall, as long as they are still healthy and not drastically losing weight. All of mine have gone through phases of eating like horses and then eating next to nothing, and they've all survived so far! Don't make a big deal out of it, as sometimes they can use it as a way of attention seeking by deliberately leaving things as they'll know you will make a fuss. Here I go again on my own....0 -
Elliot still has a small bald patch, even though hes only on his back for naps! we do tummy time etc, but he prefers to practice his sitting now he's older.
he's having three meals a day now, i'm so pleased with how well he's doing with weaning. he's eaten everything but plain baby rice so far.
i still have bad days though-its the crying that gets to me (when hes in pain over the teething).

Keely - i don't blame him for not wanting baby rice - that stuff is vile! :rotfl:
Crying still gets to me now, when Chris is tired and stroppy I hate it because I know I have to be consistent in the rules but he cries at everything you say and I usually end up with a few tears myself
Bailey I forgot to say before, hope you're feeling better soon. x
I know Chris will ask about Misty for a while, he manages to remember lots of things for a relatively long time now too but I know that in the grand scheme of things he probably won't remember ever knowing Misty, I don't think anyone remembers much/anything from before they were 3 once they're 'grown up' do they?0 -
bald spots - yes - LO was born with a full head of dark hair and now has a little bald spot at the back!
tummy time - We are trying to do tummy time each day, it really delends on her mood and how tired she is as to whether she likes it or not
3onitsway - we are the same stage - aren't the smiles and gurgles so cute. Annabel seems to pull them out just as I'm starting to pull my hair out - isn't nature clever
red - I'm under my pre-preg weight already, but must have lost it from areas I haven't noticed as still have a tummy that's jelly-like and have developed a muffin top  I'm buying spanxs for my sisters wedding in a few weeks
sleep deprivation - I'm finding this the hardest, even though LO is actually doing really well and generally only waking once for a 'sleepy feed'. I long for just one night of 6hrs sleep
breast pumps - I bought the medela electric pump and it's great. I've found it actually gets something and is efficient as well. It says that it is quiet, I'm not so sure. So far I've managed to express about an ounce per breast. I'm a little disappointed there isn't more, but then I always knew my supply was very low. I'm hoping the pumping and LO's suckling will increase it a bit more. I've promised myself to give it a couple more weeks and see how things go.........
6wk check - I had this yesterday. However, my iron levels are still really low and the iron supplements don't seem to be having the impact I'd hoped. The GP was about the 5th person to be shocked when she read that I hadn't been given a blood transfusion in hospital!
right - LO is down asleep and I'm hoping she'll stay that way till 2pmish so I'm off to bed as well. night night xr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
oh on the subject of hair...
That's my bump's mop pointed out
Chris had a full head of hair when born too so I was expecting this one to possibly have the same but I didn't think I would see in on a scan!
r.mac - are you getting plenty vit c to help you absorb the iron?
Can you request that they prescribe you one of the liquid iron supplements (Floradix or spatone) as the tabs obviously aren't doing what they are supposed to?0 -
Joseph is driving me crazy. He will no longer eat. He only devours breakfast as he is ravenous, then refuses lunch and dinner. MIL has lots of ideas for me to try, but good grief, there's so many vitamins landing in the dog nowadays. Though of course he eats just fine on tuesdays, when with childminder .
Agutka, dont worry I have the same thing with Henry. Mondays when he is at home with me he has breakfast, generally refuses lunch and then eats tea. Yesterday at nursery he had breakfast, 2 lunches, afternoon tea and then had tea with us as well before bed!!
Question: How did you get your LO's to clean their teeth, we try every night but Henry prefers to turn the toothbrush around and chew on it!!!
Rang my sister the other night at 8 to confirm getting SB tickets to find her 2 kids (aged 5 and 8) in bed already... is it bad that Henry doesn't go until 9-9.30?Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

re: eating - i think they alleat better for other people than boring mummies!
re; cleaning teeth - we give Oz his toothbrush when we're cleaning our teeth in morning and he just chews on it and sucks it and lets us brush them only a very little bit - i'm sure they all learn in time.
re; bedtime - Oz was in bed sleeping for 6.30pm most nights up until the last week or so, now its 7pm maybe 7.30pm at very latest but then he's an early riser and he never stops moving so he gets tired. Personally I think a lot of children go to bed too late and as a result are very tired and grouchy during the day. Babies are slightly different but i think once kids reach 2 or 3yrs 7 - 7.30pm is a good time.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Maz - well not including last night's events Chris usually goes to bed between 7 and 8:30 Its pointless comparing Tom to children of 5 and 8 they are completely different
I clean Chris's teeth no other way to make sure such a young child gets them clean IMHO sometimes I have to tip him back and force him but most of the time he's pretty good, I have taught him ahhhh (mouth open) and eeeee (sort of smile) so I can get to them all but he does bite the brush all the time which drives me mad! Sometimes he likes to have a go and others not, plenty of time for him to brush them himself, after all you're supposed to "supervise" all children under 7 when brushing their teeth whatever that means!0 -
Well I don't know about losing weight, but he doesn't look like he's putting any on! He's still in 9-12 trousers as they have a chance of staying round his waist, and as for tops we only use bigger ones as his arms are long. At playgroup today he got soaked after playing with water, so I took his tops off and everyone got to gasp at the little skeleton running about .
re cleaning teeth, I sometimes have to hold him down, but usually he is very good at allowing me a few seconds to do a good brush before grabbing it and having a good chew. Though his new favourite is using our electric toothbrushes! I can't imagine why that would be pleasant for a baby.
re bedtime, I let him stay up 4-5 hours after his nap. This can be anything from 7.30 to 10pm. No routine here whatsoever.
April Fools - told hubby I was pregnant this morning but instead of freaking out, which would be a funnier joke, he was really happy . I never felt so bad in my life :rotfl:. Though his reaction did give me hope for the future.
