  • Hi to everyone, wow, pages and pages i've just read(ok skimmed though) to try to catch up.

Hi and welcome to all the newbies.

How do you manage to keep up to date Becles, Sami-b and others, i can go for a good week or more before logging back in as i'm so busy (or is that tired?).

Iwcus, please please ask for Omeprazole, its the only thing that sorted Molly out and get the liquid not the losec mups (they definitely don't do what they say on the tin). Its expensive so they are reluctant to prescribe it but it was like magic for us. Even though Molly's reflux cleared up at xmas, i've still kept the bottle in the fridge from fear of needing it, probably couldn't now as out of date. But i'm glad that phase is over.

Quick update, Me.....had two lots of skin cancer removed and two reasonable scars to show for it on my shoulder and face, found two more on the same afternnoon of op but will wait as the pain was bad enough with 2, not as bad as childbirth though!!! not doing too bad PND wise, forgot to get new tabs and a week in i'm thinking maybe i can do this without, kids slightly easier and weather better etc, i'll give it another go.

Jack = 2yrs = toad mode!! That just about says it all!! Actually that's a tad harsh, he's a lovely boy, but going to bed now the evenings are lighter is a challenge that i'm determined to win. His speech is coming along and he's grown taller, just got his 2-3yr trousers out today as last.

Molly has been walking for over a month and is going through a very clingy mummy stage, that is very wearing. She is also in between needing her second nap but dropping it too if that makes sense, so her routine is being revised on a daily basis at the moment. We'll get there, but the days of having them both down after lunch are over for now, as she doesn't need her half nine top up anymore and crashes at 11. By the time she makes it to 1pm, Jack will have most likely given his up. Oh well.....luckily my two can amuse themselves whilst I get stuff done.

DH is loving his new job and reckons its the best decision we ever made, actually we all think that. He's home at reasonable times and sees the children which they love.

Speaking of which i've also decided Molly isn't a baby anymore, not sure who else said that. SHe is definitely a toddler who had her own mind and can walk around the garden and out into the playing fields if the gate if left open!!! She tries her hardest to keep up with Jack and now they really do paly and laugh with each other. Maybe having two close was a great mistake (sorry idea) after all!!

Hope to check in sooner this time. Take care everyone.
  • Just remembered was it Sami or Agutka? But the way molly is teething she could also be at school by the time she gets a full set. She just her first at 11.5m and at 13m we are still awaiting the two top teeth that have just there and bugged us all for 4 weeks. I think she is the only 13m old i know that only has 2 teeth!!!!

She's settling in nicely thanks Mel.

Getting lots of lovely smiles now, sort of makes up for the sleepless! She's very restless though, mostly just little 20 minute naps during the day, but as long as she's sleeping for longer at nights, thats ok!
I managed to get all of my maternity stuff listed on ebay yesterday - the first time i've actually achieved something in the 7 weeks she's been here. Mum reckons it's a jinx to put my mat.stuff on ebay - apparently i'll get pregnant again. I'm sure you have to do something other than list on ebay to get a baby - but my minds a bit fuzzy about what it is! :rotfl:

Will you be able to convice OH for a no.4? And have you got space for one? OH would have a no.4 if I could guarantee a boy so its a nice even 2 of each!

Was it you saying about the Surestart Centres? I had a look on Direct Gov and there's two near me, Bromborough and Eastham, that I didn't know were there.

I might go back to WW - I was a gold member in the far and distant past!

    That would be me :D
Chris got his first tooth around 11.5mths too (on Christmas day!) 2nd one came about 12.5mths and then another 2 within a few weeks but that was it for at least 3mths!
He's got 13 teeth so 7 to go (3 fangs, 4 back) I don't know when I got my teeth as a baby but I know I lost mine early so no idea where he got his slow teeth from!

All those saying you don't have a baby but a toddler, well I don't have a toddler anymore :( I've got a rather cheeky little boy who only went to bed at 10pm tonight  He was exhausted at about 5pm but after his tea and then milk later he suddenly woke up and just kept getting out of bed:mad:
I'm pretty depressed coz Mum called not long after Chris went to bed to tell me our older dog has died, she was only 12 and although she'd slowed down in the last few months it was just the usual back legs getting stiff I didn't think she'd be gone for at least a year :( Now my poor doggy/her daughter is all lost and lonely. I'm not looking forward to having to keep telling Chris a lie about where she is until he forgets about her either

:hello: Hi Bailey long time no see.....glad to hear things are good with you.

We've had a bout of the bug here so been busy dealing with TONS of washing - LO's clothes, my clothes (3 sets of each in one day) and all the throws on the sofa's!

First it was Archie then me, still waiting for the other members of the household to get it but hoping they wont!

re; tummy time and flat head syndrome - I think as Lo was pretty clingy he spent alot more time on me than on the floor...so no problems there but ds1 was less clingy and I used to put a quilt off the bed on the floor to make it bit more comfortable and he was rolling around from about 4 mths so I suppose it must have helped ( I was able to leave him alone for ages seems like a dream compared to current LO:rolleyes: ).

Oh and my oldest is 11 so it is nearly 12 years since I hit my pre-pregnancy weight:D . I'd be tempted to try and go for it again but I was 8 stone then so it seems like an unreachable target:p .

3 - surestart centres are fab :D if you're quick you'll prob find that your local ones are having a fun day for easter, ours has got the easter bunny coming and gardening fun for all plus lots of games and other activities :T
Oh and when you join you get a freebie!! Baby freebie was a changing bag, hat, bib, t-shirt, photo album, disposable camera and a tommee tippee sippy cup!
The toddlers freebie is a PE style bag but don't know what it contains coz I joined when Chris was a bubba

  • Wish I lived in a surestart area, everyone i have spoken to who benefitted said they were great! Sami sorry to hear about your dog, its a shame but at least the dog isn't suffering or in pain, could you tell your lad the truth or would he not understand? Jack would remember things forever. On the hoof yesterday we decided to call into daddy's school to say hi, Jack went there once during half term a good 6 weeks ago, 2 streets pre the school Jack started saying Daddy school daddy school, now that's scary he remembers so much on so little info and the area surrounding it. I;m not sure if i could do that if ii wasn't driving.

On the flat head thing, Jack hated his tummy and did have a flat head, not sure if it went before his hair grew or other way round, but he looks ok now, sat up a 6 months and walked 12m. Molly never had a flat head and loved tummy time and walked 11m, so i think each child does things their own way.

I had the bug too last week, full on D&V and then cramping for a good 3 or 5 days after, sunday i was in agnony with it again and trhew up with the runs, so its going around. Decided a good dose of acidophillus and activia yoghurt was the cure and so far soo good only after 2 days, so will give it a week to make sure.

Right must go to bed, my MSE time is up.

    Night all.

Sami - sorry to hear about your dog, it's always too early

Bailey - the skin cancer sounds scary - isn't it amazing how much they remove for tiny moles? Hope the pain doesn't bother you for long.

Joseph is driving me crazy. He will no longer eat. He only devours breakfast as he is ravenous, then refuses lunch and dinner. MIL has lots of ideas for me to try, but good grief, there's so many vitamins landing in the dog nowadays. Though of course he eats just fine on tuesdays, when with childminder . He also uses the potty at her house . I'm beginning to wander if he'd be better off with her full time :o...

Snap - must be an awkward age..I think the floor has been better nourished than Archie lately!:p

Wow he's using the potty already - bet she uses subterfuge (sweetie bribes perhaps) Archie just about bothers with practicing sitting on his potty.

I would be wary of the childminder saying he eats for her... It might be that he has 2 mouthfuls then decides enough is enough with her but she still classes it as him eating... ;)
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.
