MFD, Poppy (18m) goes to bed at 6:30pm and sleeps until 7ish. I put Jamie down (3m) at 9, last feed around midnight and he then sleeps until 7ish too. Routines are not for everyone but my household (and sanity) functions better with one!
.
I clean Poppy's teeth for her and then pass over control of the brush with lot of 'who is such a big girl'!, 'Mummy's clever girl'! lol. She sits on a chair in the bathroom and I let her play with the rubber duck as a distraction!
Lots of hugs, Bailey. Hope everything turns out well.
We always sing Row Row, Ladybird! The crocodile is my favourite and we practically yell! :rotfl:

Another verse for row row:
Gently to?/through? the cave, if you see a grizzly bear, don't forget to wave. <waves>The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0 -
ooh all these new verses to remember!! :T
The one we used to sing as kids was "Throw your teacher overboard and then you'll make her scream"
Chris's fave one is the lion coz he loves to rrroooaaaarrrr!
Little monkey finally went to sleep at 10:40 tonight _pale_
That was 3.5hrs after originally trying to put him to bed! after much faffing about, one poop and at least 20 minutes of crying until he almost threw up later and he was out for the count! I had to sit on the floor until he went to sleep once he'd agreed to get in and then had to crawl out of the room due to pregnancy hips/backI'm hoping and praying its not more of the same tomorrow and I'm getting worried about our decision to get him a new bed, what if I have to go through all this again when we do  I'll be at least 35wks preg before we'll be able to get the new bed
He did at one point keep saying "its not safe"we've got a bed guard up that is borrowed from mum and his new bed will have little side bits on

6.30 - 7.30pm bedtime here for the little one. Any later and he gets too tired and is beggar to get to sleep, any earlier and we get woken up at 6am the next day (although that still does happen sometimes anyway).
I try and start the routine at 6 just after tea but if tea is later then so is bedtime. We do brush (teeth), bath (or quick dip if in a hurry), story, songs, booby and then bed and if I get him down before 7pm I give myself a mental pet on the back for job well done.)
LBUK Archies favourite song is row row too...it was so cute a couple of months ago when he started talking and row row row were some of his first words. Funnily enough we learned it at the library also....:O)MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -

Sami - when my boys were little and kept getting out of bed. I used to just pick them up and put them back with no words, no eye contact, no cuddles - nothing! Once they realised they were not getting anything at all from me, they soon started staying in bed.
You need to be consistant and not give in - even if it takes 6 hours of putting him back in bed, never crack and give in to his demands. If you do, it just teaches him he can push you for x hours and then you do as he wants.
It's really hard I know, and sometimes it is tempting to give in for an easier life, but in the long run it's better to be firm and play by your rules.
Charlotte likes row row the boat too, but I have to sit on the floor with my knees apart and feet together, and she sits in the middle opposite me, and we hold hands and rock backwards and forwards while we sing it.
She also likes making up her own songs, usually about two complimentary items such as the "socks and shoes" song, "ham and cheese" song and the "up or down" songHere I go again on my own....0 -
ooooh thank you for the row row row the boat verses - i only knew the original and the crocadile, and he loves those so thats great!!!
