They tend to grow used to it gradually, and once they can hold their heads up / lean on their arms etc then they start to prefer it... I wouldn't force the issue if she really hates it... Just give her plenty of opportunity to strengthen her neck in other ways... Holding her upright, or lying down and popping her on her tummy on your tummy... It will be more comfy than the floor anyway...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Awwww how cute. I love it when they start walking:D
Just a quick question, how long did it take everyone to fit back into their pre-preg clothes (or did they even get back into them??) I am wondering whether to wait a bit longer or just go out and buy some bigger sizes, as I just can't get my jeans fastened up at all. Yet I have lost all but 3lb of baby weight:rolleyes:

re: tummy time - Oz hated being put on his tummy for more than a couple of minutes at a time and some days i didnt even bother, as he cried so much, but as he got a little older slowly slowly he got more used to it and he rolled over at 4 months and by 6 months he wouldnt lie on his back at all. I think it takes time and as long as you are aware of putting her on her back as much as she is willing to do then you shouldnt have a problem.
re: pre pregnancy size - i cant comment i was lighter at the end of my pregnancy than before i was pregnant (thanks to hyperemesis) but since having baby have piled more weight on!!! Redmel - baby was only born a wee while ago! give yourself time and things will shrink back down again as long as you're sensible!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

I kep reading about putting babies to play on their fronts so they can strengthen the muscles they need to roll over/crawl. I try to do this for a little while, but Izzy hates it, so we normally only manage for a minute or two, even with lots of distraction to make it fun. Is this normal at 11 weeks, or should I be trying to do it more times a day? I'm guessing that as she gets stronger she will be able to prop herself up easier and won't mind it as much.0 -

well maybe although there are a lot more babies with flat head syndrome now (not huge numbers but more than there used to be) and thats because babies spend SO much time on their backs ie sleep on their back and basically are on their backs all day, so a little bit of tummy time does help to strengthen necks and tummy muscles and keeps their little heads up. i would say just do it as often as you think to and for as long (or short) as baby is happy.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Mel - I never made it back into my pre preg clothes
I was pre preg weight but a diff shape. I think you are possibly putting yourself under unnecessary pressure trying to fit pre preg clothes before bubs is 3 mths, just enjoy Kai and worry about slimming a bit later on

Ladybird - I can't really remember ever purposefully putting chris on his tummy, I think its more import as krystal said to have "not lying on back" timeI think Chris had decent neck muscles because he spent alot of time on my shoulder so he had to lift his head a bit to look around

Hi Mel - how's it going?
I think i read somewhere that it takes 9 months for your body to grow your baby, so allow 9 months for it to get back to normal!
I'm a little lighter than my pre-preg weight - but definately a different shape! (Bigger boobs and a bigger, wobbyier belly!):beer:0 -
Thanks guys for your replies. I know it may seem as if I am awfully vain, I really am not at all. I just tried so hard to lose over 2st before I fell preg, and I still have about another 2-3st to lose before I am in the healthy range...I would actually like to lose about 4st to get back to a size 10 but I doubt that will happen;)
re: tummy time, My other two barely spent any time on their tums and ds1 walked at 8mths, ds2 not until 14mths. They both spent a fair amount of time in the bouncy chair, and then in baby walker, as opposed to lying on their backs. Funny enough, my friend came round this afternoon, and as well as her baby(20wks) looking very overweight (already being given two meals a day!!), she has a very flat head at the back mainly on one side. I wasn't sure if she was born with it, although I don't remember noticing it too much when she was smaller? It is more likely that she is lay in her moses basket or cot all day, isn't it?

Hiya 3 - It's going well thank you, Kai is really settling into family life here:D
How are you and your brood?
Also:eek: 9mths - I am going to join slimming world tomorrow, although I will just be following it a bit loosely at first but I am starting to get in the habit of eating carp and could do with some motivation.
Just as I am typing this I am thinking I would like to lose another stone before ttc for baby 4 (if I can convince dh to no.4 anyway)
