If he's feeding happily in one side (big gulps and swallows etc) then there's no need to swap him to the other side after a set time... If he gets fretfull and keeps coming off and going back on, still seems hungry/unsatisfied... then swap to the other side... But there's no need to feed from both sides for each feed... and if he only has a short feed on one side, it's perfectly fine to pop him back on the same side for the next feed...

My poor baby has been ever so ill all weekend... she's on her 2nd day off school and flaked out asleep on the sofa... Can't remember the last time she had a daytime nap! At least we've managed to get through today so far without resorting to calpol/calprofen...

  • I tend to leave her on one side and see how she goes... if she falls asleep on me then I leave her to it, but if she is still hungry when one side runs out she can try on the other.

Had to take car into garage again this morning, so have been into town at the same time (no point walking home from garage, then back into town again later), so next feed I'm going to try expressing again. We managed to get her to take 1floz before refusing it last time, so will keep persisting. In laws are round tonight, so will see if Grandad has more luck!

On a completely different subject, I was pondering this morning - at what age did you let your babies go on the swings?! Not that I'm in any rush to do it now, just wondering. I don't think I'd want to until she is sitting up on her own (which should be over the summer I hope!), but not sure if I should leave it for longer than that? Not urgent in the slightest, just popped into my head as I took a short cut through the park this morning!

Do you know, I can't really remember how old Aimee was... Don't think it was until she could support herself well enough... and could hold onto the bar in front... Think she was about 5/6 months... She was sitting up alone from 16 weeks...

ladybird, I think Chris was on the swing once he could sit up unaided as hats when I felt he was strong enough to not get whiplash :rotfl: there massive heads weigh a ton to them when littel and its surprising how strong they need to be to with stand the forwards backwards thing IYKWIM
I have to say I found it much more fun to have him sat on my knee on the 'normal' swing - not that I'm so childish that I still enjoy a good ol' swing  ;)

Beccles - I hope when you said imodium you mean tesco own brand lopromide for 94 ish p? ;)

MFD, I usually just feed from one side, pretty much how you and the others have described it. Just do what feels right :-)

Poor little Celia has her first ear infection :-( We're both now impressively yellow after getting covered in banana medicine, somehow she has some actually on (not in thankfully) her ear, I think she was going for the direct approach!

Aww fritha, poor celia! I've suffered some awful ear infections, they're not pleasant! Good luck getting the medicine in... Are you doing it with a syringe?

Yup, she tried to help, it was more of a hindrance! I dread to think what would have happened if we'd used a spoon, I think we would have looked like extras from The Simpsons!

I hope Aimee feels better soon Krystal

Thank you, me too! She's still sleeping at the minute... And snoring like my Nan! I'm hoping she's over the worst of the temperatures because she's reached the point where she's refusing the medicine and gagging on what you do manage to get down her... Yesterday I wore a drink of water while trying to get 1 spoonful of calprofen in her... I don't know how much actually went down and stayed down... But it worked eventually...

Got another Q especially for Krystal (hope you dont mind?) My bf baby did a green poo. He's had one a few weeks ago. Does it mean he's not getting enough milk from me? He's 22 weeks.
    Ta xx
