Can anyone help with ideas for boy's names please? We have very few and can't seem to agree on any. I like 'real' names, but nothing too popular because we have a common surname. I like Heath, Ned, Alex and Max at the moment, but none feels just right IYSWIM?

i love Ned too, and Oscar (obviously! - cos thats Oz's name), Charlie (Oz's second name), My boys names for any future boys are Isaac, Noah and Eli, and possibly Luke or Luca.

edited to add - if i have a girl ever i want to call her Izzy cos then I'll have and Ozzie and an Izzy and if i then had an Isaac that would be great!

We have a kari-me sling. We found it invaluable in the first few months.

Charlotte is 21 months now and quite happy in the cot. It's been on the lowest matress setting from since she started pulling herself up to standing, but she's never tried to get out. Even when she's awake, she just lays there singing which is sweet! Currently thinking about getting a bed shortly as we go on holiday in May just after her second birthday and she'll have a bed in the hotel room, as they only supply cots for under 2's. May get a cot if we ask on arrival, but it depends on if they have any left or not.
If they don't have cots and she's not normally in a bed, you can always pop the mattress on the floor to help avoid the falling risk. We had to change our travel cot recently (the old one was faulty) and we couldn't get Alice to go in the new one (she screamed hysterically and even when I was in it with her she was only just not crying) so in the end we got one of those blow up ready beds two days before we went away. Even though she's normally in a cot, she got on fine with it. The first couple of times we stayed with her till she went to sleep and then the next couple we stayed a little bit but left while she was still awake and then she was fine.

    Hope so Keely. x

Cazscoob-my LO has silent reflux- its the one that they dont vomit everywhere but they're just in pain due to the acid. So weight gain isnt usually affected with silent reflux unless they're oesophagus is too raw and sore for them to feed. I'm not sure how long he'll be taking ranitadine for but we have appt in 6 weeks time. I'm just so glad that he's better, he's a much happier baby.

ps your little ones weight gain is brilliant. You must have gold top milk!!!

hehe had to laugh at that didnt think she would put on that much! and ive been worried she hasnt been taking enough:D

have never heard of silent reflux ? what a shame it must be horrible? normal reflux was bad enough lol think i smelt of baby sick 24/7 lol!

Becles - isn't it sweet when they sing. Imogen's started a new playgroup and they must make a joke of singing really fast. Today I've come home to Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa very fast, but with a matching increase in volume :rotfl: :rotfl:

It is sweet. She sings a lot and people notice when we're out and about and comment on it. She loves dancing too. Hubby is a DJ and he reckons she could join him on the road to provide entertainment :D

he was doing this strange little thing this evening with his tongue kinda looked like he was trying to roll it or something, then i panicked that he'd damaged himself when he hit his head :o  , but i've got my sensible head on now (mostly) and I reckon he's just remembered about his tongue again - he does that every so often and starts sticking it out at every opportunity for a few days. :p

Charlotte went through a phase where she stuck her tongue out constantly for about a month  It looked really wierd and I was glad when she got over it :o

    Never thought of that :o

In the room pictures, it's like a sort of cross between a sofa and a child's bed built in the gap under the window. We also thought we could move the bedside cabinet and shove the double bed against it to stop her rolling out too.
Here I go again on my own....

he's been all over the place today dont know whats going on. and he banged his head (again) on the floor - does anyone elses babe's get as many knocks as my little man?! i swear he has a different bruise on his head every week. he's in bed now but he's moaning and groaning - hopefully he'll go over soon.

Ooh yes, Joseph was/is always picking up bruises. And I'm still waiting for his hair to grow properly, so we can hide them :p. This week my son has grazed knuckles from monkeying around the park. There was an occasion recently when my mum was changing him and saw about five small bruises on his arms and legs and pondered on calling the social services on me! And he's not even that clumsy...

I know what you mean with ur mum, Chris lost his balance and landed on his bum but there was a toy where he landed so he ended up with a bruise on his bum and everyone noticed it I felt like I was being interrogated coz about 4 people had changed his nappy or been with us when I did it and all asked about it.
I know they were just being caring but obviously I'm gonna know that my son has a bruise on his bum!
he always has bruised shins and knees coz he runs round like a loon and never looks where he's going bumps into and falls over everything!

I couldn't call a baby Ned at the moment, because I am watching the next series of Pushing Daisies.

We chose 'normal' names, but not 'common', so that throughout nursery and primary they were always the only one in their class if not the school, but never stood out as outlandish.

In no particular order (they each have two): David Philip Ian John Roger Alan

We have a 3 syllable surname so they had to have a good rhythm. And we were scraping the barrel by the time No. 3 arrived, so many names I couldn't use because I'd known someone of that name who I wouldn't have wanted to be reminded of! As it was, one of our weirder friends thought we'd named the eldest after him! But I saw his name in a baby names book, and it was as if I had NEVER seen it before in my life, even though we had several friends with that name, AND were sharing the house with someone of that name! :rotfl:

If I'd had a girl, she'd have been Judith Mary.
