Hope ranitadine will work for Elliot too Keely. Did you get a date for his appt? How's he managing on gaviscon? It was making my LO constipated.
xx
Hi, our appointment isnt till march  We have actually seen a big improvement over the past two weeks, he's still on the gaviscon but i think his body is just developing. I really hope so anyway. Would be great if he grew out of it, so to speak.

Hope so Keely. x
Cazscoob-my LO has silent reflux- its the one that they dont vomit everywhere but they're just in pain due to the acid. So weight gain isnt usually affected with silent reflux unless they're oesophagus is too raw and sore for them to feed. I'm not sure how long he'll be taking ranitadine for but we have appt in 6 weeks time. I'm just so glad that he's better, he's a much happier baby.
ps your little ones weight gain is brilliant. You must have gold top milk!!!

On the subject of stairgates. I had this one first of all
http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/baby-gates/lindam-easy-fit-flexi-gate.asp
and ended up taking it back - I found it just too fiddly and difficult to make fit properly.
.
I have one of these gates too (We bought it when the dog was spayed and we had to stop her going up stairs!). And I agree, i couldn't get on with it at all. I thought it was just me, all fingers and thumbs that I am, but it was so fiddly, I can't imagine using it when carrying a baby in your arms.
I will go back to the pregnancy club now where I belong, But will continue lurking in here till June!Value of prizes 2010 - 2017: £8374 Wins 2022: Magic set

Nadnad - Well all have days like that I think! Its most stressful but I do what the HV advised ages ago and put him in his cot with a dvd on and sit downstairs and listen to music or watch tv for 5 or 10 mins so I can't hear him and let my patience come back so I don't end up throttling him!
as you a bit isolated in your house You may find it helpful to just pop outside and scream at the top of your lungs for a few seconds to get rid of any anger - I have to settle with screaming into a pillow which isn't as good but I think one of the neighbours would call the men in white coats if I was screaming in the garden
thanks Sami, i have screamed before in frustration but only in the house - even though we have a huge garden and live down a lane my dad and brother have their business across the lane so if i let my frustration out outside they may call the men in white coats themselves! :rotfl:
he hasnt been too bad this afternoon - went to jo jingles and the lady said the next rotation of classes Oz might be in the walking class as she reckons he'll walk early. He stood on his own yesterday for about 10 seconds! we were totally freaked out because if he had fallen forwards he would have hit his face on his wooden activity cube  . He fell asleep in the car after jo jingles and i just left him and he slept for 2 hours!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Nad - we have used Ashton & Parsons powders for Imogen since she was little. They aren't just for teething and can be used to counter general grumpiness. We still use them with her if she's out of sorts. They are homeopathic, so no drugs in them. We can literally see a difference in about 15 mins in her mood. We just get them from the supermarket or chemist for about £4 a pack. They are suitable from any age. HTH?
Mollie - don't just lurk. All ideas welcome here, even if you don't quite 'qualify'!!
Lwcs, so glad you're seeing an improvement. What a relief for you.
Keeley - fingers crossed things are getting better.
I have my 20wk scan in the morning and am quite excited, but completely forgot how frumpy I feel in maternity bras :-( Did anyone come across anything remotely supportive or sexy without a £40 price tag? I'm used to a bit of uplift so am feeling quite saggy and don't have the shape I want in these damn soft cup non-wired slings!
**Mummy boast moment ** Am so proud of Imogen right now. She can now recognise 7 different letters, unprompted and in any word, not just associated with the picture on her flash cards. She says "mmm is for you" (mummy), how sweet is that?
I'm wondering when she can get a p/t job to pay for her uni fees?! is 4 too young for a paper round?MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Sorry to hear you've had a bad day nadnad. Hope you get a relaxing evening.
I've had my two eldest off school today, as both schools are closed for teacher training. I normally work Monday's but took the day off. My Mam still took Charlotte as they go to a toddler group together, and we went into Newcastle and visited the Castle Keep and a museum. I'm pleased my Mam did take Charlotte as the stairs in the keep were so worn and uneven, I wouldn't have managed carrying her and they would have been too steep for her. Boys enjoyed it and they picked up a leaflet about a science festival and have marked down various things they want to go to, so that will keep us busy in March! For the north east people www.newcastlesciencefest.com
Charlotte keeps singing wheels on the bus over and over again. Really it's just a load of random gibberish, and then she yells "all day long" at the top of her voice :rotfl:Here I go again on my own....0 -
Anyone know where the pregnancy club's gone? Version V is shut but no link to VI and I can't find it in a search?!!
Becles - isn't it sweet when they sing. Imogen's started a new playgroup and they must make a joke of singing really fast. Today I've come home to Twinkle Twinkle and Baa Baa very fast, but with a matching increase in volume :rotfl: :rotfl:
Can anyone help with ideas for boy's names please? We have very few and can't seem to agree on any. I like 'real' names, but nothing too popular because we have a common surname. I like Heath, Ned, Alex and Max at the moment, but none feels just right IYSWIM?MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
thanks Lu i have ashton and parsons and never thought to use it this morning.
he's been all over the place today dont know whats going on. and he banged his head (again) on the floor - does anyone elses babe's get as many knocks as my little man?! i swear he has a different bruise on his head every week. he's in bed now but he's moaning and groaning - hopefully he'll go over soon.
he was doing this strange little thing this evening with his tongue kinda looked like he was trying to roll it or something, then i panicked that he'd damaged himself when he hit his head:rolleyes: , but i've got my sensible head on now (mostly) and I reckon he's just remembered about his tongue again - he does that every so often and starts sticking it out at every opportunity for a few days.
