Thanks - will look at them.

The problem is the Newell posts are fancy. Similar to this one:
    http://lh4.ggpht.com/_v2FfRnmzmTE/RmMOxPtoLrI/AAAAAAAAABo/L3CB1OQKlks/Railing1.jpg
so my husband said the normal brackets and fixings won't screw on as the post is round and not flat.
aahh thats a bit poop :p

My mum got the lindam easy fit plus gate to fit in the bedroom door way and even though it says it will fit a gap the size the door way is it doesn't fit!! there is no way on earth it ever could either the gate is just too wide

I hate the whole gate thing will be glad when we can get rid

my my you lot can chat!!
we put dd in a bed at 21 months because we wanted to get her used to a bed before ds was born, she's only fallen out of it once and that was when she managed to get herself across the bed and she fell out head first!
we took down our baby gate just before christmas, dd kept messing and swinging off it so it seemed safer to get rid. but it was at the top of the stairs coz we couldn't put one at the bottom as the stairs are positioned funny.
i have a sling for ds - this one http://www.bigmamaslings.co.uk/zen-cart/storchenwiege-wraparound-baby-sling-p-129.html - because i didn't want to fork out for a double pram when dd walks nearly everywhere. she only goes in the pram when she's tired.
i love it, so easy to wear, took a while to get the tie right but ds always falls asleep in it and everyone comments on it!

Morning all, hope you are all well. LO seems to have some sort of bug at the minute. He was sick at nursery on Friday in his sleep and then just before bedtime. His nappies have gradually got looser and paler over the weekend and then he was sick again this morning after having his milk. (sorry if TMI!!) He's fine in himself but the washing machine has never been on so much!!!

Went back to shoe shop and they said that his fitting was right and that it might be his socks rubbing but if it happens again then they will change shoes for me. Blister seems to be going down though and Lo not bothered by it either.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

at last my milk came in yest and its like i have a new baby! she isnt screaming like she was and is feeding every 4 hours! so i had 4 hours sleep straight last night, fed her and then another 4! was ovr the moon lol! she was obviously starving as now she has a content look when she is sleeping and is so much more settled!

will give this freedom sling a go if i dont like it can always relist it and buy another lol!

    That's great!!

I had the best night sleep last night. LO was put on ranitadine last week for reflux. Before then he wouldn't settle in the cot at all and was sleeping in bed with me. The last 2 nights he has been in his cot, and managed to sleep 9-3 and then woke up at 5 and 7. I feel so much better after a good night sleep.

Hope ranitadine will work for Elliot too Keely. Did you get a date for his appt? How's he managing on gaviscon? It was making my LO constipated.

    xx

Lola Lola Lola Lola Lola :D

If u can have her on ur front facing you and she is upright when she's in ur carrier it should put her hips in a good position to keep them strong. I couldn't find a link to the info I read about this but it was one of the reasons I got a wrap sling as we have family history on both sides of dodgy joints mainly my sister being born with Hip Displaysia.

    I second Lola!!!

My DD was born with clicky hips - most likely cos she was a frank breech, but she wore double nappies for about 4 months and was monitored regularly and had scans until she was 18 months as DH's sister had hip dysplasia. We used a front sling (standard baby bjorn type style effort) and hosp said ok. she was facing us whilst teeny and then outward facing when a bit bigger.

On the subject of stairgates. I had this one first of all

    http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/baby-gates/lindam-easy-fit-flexi-gate.asp

and ended up taking it back - I found it just too fiddly and difficult to make fit properly.

I've since made a step over gate from a few bits of leftover wood for the kitchen and I'm still waiting for OH to fit the rollerblind type one I bought for the top of the stairs. Starting to annoy me now as LO is running away from me at every opportunity so I'm having to be extra fast on my feet these days.

Becles - could your Oh box in the bannister end just while you need a stairgate? We have a similar problem as our bannisters are totally rubbish and have gaps of nearly 11cm so I think we will have to put some sort of mesh or something over it so LO doesn't try and squeeze between the panels.

    Almost forgot

    CONGRATULATIONS CAZCOOB!

glad you are getting good sleeps too - it makes such a difference.

I like lola too, but I'm sure whatever you pick will be lovely, I always think that a baby makes a name come alive iykwim so even old fashioned names seem cute when attached to a lovely little one.

My LO was like it on Sat. Just couldn't work out why he was so grumpy. Sometimes he wont stop crying all day, to the extent that I can't even put him down for 5 mins to make myself a cuppa.
Its not silent reflux is it? Does his sick smell acidic, does he cry during feeds?

Nadnad - Well all have days like that I think! Its most stressful but I do what the HV advised ages ago and put him in his cot with a dvd on and sit downstairs and listen to music or watch tv for 5 or 10 mins so I can't hear him and let my patience come back so I don't end up throttling him!
as you a bit isolated in your house You may find it helpful to just pop outside and scream at the top of your lungs for a few seconds to get rid of any anger - I have to settle with screaming into a pillow which isn't as good but I think one of the neighbours would call the men in white coats if I was screaming in the garden :D

tss - I have seen something to cover banisters its if along the landing or actually going up the stairs thats the problem?
