thanks for that info, I've had my eye on the Maxicosi priorifix for a while now, though Oz is still only 18 pounds so he can stay in the little seat for a while longer. Its good to know that its recommended. I've just gotta keep my eyes open for a bargain cos its usually around £200 mark :eek:DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Priorifix Pros- safest seat. Cons-heavy (11kg) so best to leave installed
Kiddy- safe Cons-None.
Chicco-shoulder straps easily adjustable and easy to buckle. Cons-the seatbelt version does not perform as well as the isofix.
Is that the right size for a 18 month or do you want the details of 15-36kg?0 -

Chris rolls around quite loudly and talks in his sleep but I sleep through it most of the time, now I've made the monitor less sensitive. He used to keep me up all the time when he was in our room tho!0 -
This new kiddy infinity pro seat looks very interesting. Some discussion of it here with a link to another discussion on mumsnet. My DH will never let me buy a new seat, but would so love not having the 5 point harness, as much as I like our maxi cosi priori xp, I do get so sick of twisted straps and the having-to-hoik-it-tight around her palaver.0

Thanks for all your symphathy girls! I'm now in my office with wireless keyboard while Imogen chills out with bedtime hour. :T
Nad - what I would have said earlier is a bit like others. Perhaps she thinks you're more capable, or doesn't want to offend you by offering? If she doesn't know you moved back to be nearer the family support I'd throw that in. I know my mum would be mortified to hear something like that and would feel like she'd let me down.
Perhaps it's also about your sis having #2. Or perhaps she's just never realised that you'd like the help. So you have 2 options. Continue to stew on it and it might knaw away at you until it becomes HUGE and probably out of proportion. Or tackle the subject sooner rather that later, hoping that the temporary upset will lead to things being better in the future.
Lwcus - thanks for the car seat stuff. Could you let me know about the next weight range up too please? I've been looking at a Brtiax one in the Kiddicare sale which will take her up to age 11. They don't seem so expensive when you look at it like that.MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
thanks everyone for your thoughts on my mother!
i think i'm going to have to let it lie, as my mum is one that loves a drama and if i mentioned anything to her she would blow it way up and it would cause a huge family problem. I shall choose to believe she doesnt think i need the help - thats the nicest way of thinking of it!
Oz fell asleep at 4.15 and i let him lie until 4.45 then he couldnt keep his eyes open, wouldnt eat any dinner and now is in bed already and crying from overtiredness. and i know he'll be up loads tonight cos he'll be hungry. aaagggh.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Ps. Last night I got in bed at 3:30am  - I wasn't doing anything, I was tired yet I still just don't go to bed
I'm sure its some kind of medical condition!!
I woke up feeling pretty poo after 6hrs sleepand I doubt I'll get a nap either
You're not alone there! I do this at least once a week! I guess I just need me time more than I need the sleep. After the first few months you realise that you can actually survive on 2 hours a night so anything more is optional! For everything else, there's MSE :T0 -
yes please ar seats lwus - ******g keyoard!! suitale fro 2 yrs - ahhhhh!!!
If you don't know where to put them all back, only take off a few at a time. And put them down carefully in order.
nad, the other possibility is that your sister has confided in her but not you about something which makes her think she needs the help and you don't. Or another is that she prefers your sister's husband to yours as a SonIL (my mum barely speaks to OH but is perfectly pleasant to her other SonsIL!) My mum and dad seem to make a lot more fuss of some of their grandchildren than they do of others, and we can't work out why either.Signature removed for peace of mind0
