On the other hand my mum who i see every day is fantastic... always askin could she have ..? never gives without my permission :rotfl:

My mum asks me too, and I always say how should I know, I know nothing about babies :rotfl:. But then she doesn't try to poison him, just stuff him silly. Bless Joseph though, he lets her feed him anything. Although the childminder said she fed him brussel sprouts today, so it must be just me then - I'm only 'allowed' to give him bread, meat and more bread. Drives me silly.

cant believe so many to choose from.:mad:

Good grief, and then they have the cheek to put
The mattress you choose is a very important part of a child’s first two years of growth and development
on their front page , like it's a test and they expect you to fail.

Joseph is sleeping on a basic foam mattress from Mothercare, which as some of you might remember I bought despite the shop assistant warning me that my baby is at risk of sids on such a cheap mattress . He's lucky if I turn the thing over occasionally.

Anyway, not long to go now until the monkey climbs out of the cot and then I'm sure [STRIKE]I will[/STRIKE] my mum will get him something expensive that will be suitable for his growth and development .

  • Tom is going through a phase of taking food back out of his mouth, looking at it and putting it back in. Seems to be stuff with the most texture that he most does it with. Anyone had this and got ideas on how to stop it? Or do I just let him explore it? He's gone from being a really neat eater to a really messy one.

Choca I'd let him explore if it was me but only 'cause I can't think of any solutions really:D .

LO thinks that the appropriate end to a meal is to throw all his leftover food and plate on the floor so I know how it feels to have a messy eater....I sit by him ready to stop him/catch but am not always successful  .

This will make you ladies laugh...my mum has mastitis ..seems she's been lactating in sympathy with me how funny is that :rotfl: she thought she had breast cancer and I told her it was mastitis a week ago but she didn't believe me. My diagnosis was confirmed by the hospital today..apparantly the dr found it very funny too.

I would just let him get on with it. It's all part of exploring. Charlotte was "drawing" with a piece of brocolli on her high chair tray tonight :D

She does the throwing thing when she is finished too, but luckily we usually have a hoover standing by waiting, also known as a dog :D
Here I go again on my own....

Unfortunately they don't let dogs into harvester, so on Sunday we had to leave a big tip and leg it!

  • Well I have the standard mattress that came with the cot:eek:and so far Ruby's development and growth seem to be fine:rotfl: I must add she probably spends more time in our bed than her own cot..

Choc - Ruby is doing the same with her food - she seems to eat the sauce of things like pasta then they come out of her mouth for a bit of inspection and then back in they go - I just keep plenty wipes around.

  • Sami - you are younger than my baby brother !!! (Who is now Dr baby brother as of 2 days ago, which is just barmy  )

I managed about 7 hours sleep last night. Not all in one go, but at 2 weeks I don't think that's too bad going really. Thank god for infacol. We've had a really windy girl since the weekend, but the medicine is really helping (plus mummy is getting better at winding her too ;) )
