I've not took car seats abroad. In taxi's they've just had to sit on knees, but when we hired a car I checked the seats over well before we used them.
I've not took cots either, and just used the hotel supplied ones. In Spain with the boys, we've always had proper cots, but they tend to leave a baby pillow, so I just took that out and put it to one side. In Turkey we had a travel cot.
Do check the cots over on arrival as the first one in Turkey was broken and collapsed if you put weight on the side. As Charlotte was at the pulling herself up stage, I felt it was dangerous but they were happy to swop it for another one and apologised as they didn't realise it was broken. Here I go again on my own....0 -

Wow, I've never heard of that before but reading the symptoms my hubby and his dads side of the family have loads of them! no doctor has ever suggested their mega flexibility could be a sign of anything else being wrong!
FIL has those bumps under the skin as well as flexing
BIL had to have surgery a few yrs ago to stabalise his shoulder coz it was always popping out.
Think I'll keep this a secret as MIL and my hubby are the biggest hypochondriac's you'll ever meet!0 -
Hi Emilyx78, I've never heard of it, but if you want to talk about anything else...
If you google it there seems to be a support group out there with a messageboard to chat with others in your situation. You have to log in, but it seems pretty busy.
All the best!:wall:0 -

Well I dont know whether it was the veggie curry LO had at nursery on Friday, his back teeth that are coming through or the MMR jab he had last week but he has a really bad red bottom. Have reverted to cotton wool and water to clean it as wipes are stinging, caking him in Sudacrem as well... dont know what else to do... all suggestions welcome.Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -
bepenthan is good, Oz had very red bum once and that cleared it up really quickly. other than that could you let the air get to it as much as possible? although with a 1 year old running about i'm sure thats difficult.DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

When he's teething his botty gets more sensitive and I only use pampers super dry, he has a bath every day (usually every other) and I always use sudacrem at every change anyway.
If it is teething you'll prob find that it won't clear up completely until the teething has calmed
If wipes are stinging, I stand Chris in the bath with no water and wash his botty with the shower which is nice n gentle and makes him giggle coz it tickles0 -
does anyone know the average ages that babies tend to have growth spurts?Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)0
-
Hi Keely - if my maths is right then Elliot is about 17 weeks? Which is a classic time for a growth spurt and the reason many people choose to wean early. I waited until 6 months to wean and sure enough the growth spurt did end! Very tiring though, lots of waking and wanting more milk... but it's just a phase!0
