SB, CONGRATULATIONS, he is lovely and you are wonderful for delivering a nearly 11lber !!!!!

Made me remember when DS2 was younger, can't remember exactly how old, but obviously could say his own name as we would talk to him and say 'you're a good boy ...', and he would say 'no, I'm a (inserts his first name and second names)'.

My baby rolled over for the first time last night! was an accident, but he looked really pleased with himself! he seems to be doing new things each day, i feel so proud!
Mommy to Elliot (5) and Lewis (born xmas eve 11!)
  • congratulations SB, bet you've had your hands full since the 28th. hope your getting enough sleep as you've a tighter age gap than me. And 11lbs....wow, makes me want to cross my legs, do you have a john wayne wobble???

Jack doesn't say his name yet, he knows mummy, daddy, momma, gramps, molly, harvey the cat, characters on tv etc, but when I ask him for his name he doesn't offer it. When looking at a pic of him as a baby he said it was Molly, i said it was Jack and he repeated it back. So who knows.....

SB, great choice in name :-)

"I used to use 'poo puree' - as recommended by someone on here (sorry, can't remember who!) when she had porridge in the mornings. But she refuses to eat porridge for breakfast here (despite having it every day when she's at MIL's!). " That was me i used to make poo juice for jack and then it went to poo puree for breakfast cereals. now I am lazy and just buy a bottle of prune juice and decant it into little bottles or jars and freeze. Why i didn't think of that with Jack I don't know.....

  • Thank you, ladies! :D

Jamie has been extremely well behaved so far and DH has been a real star. He is much more confident this time around and alot more willing to 'do' rather than ask what to do! ;). We're trying to get some structure into our day but the time goes so quickly  .

Hey SB - glad you're getting on okay. I've said congrats in the pregnancy club, but the picks here are gorgeous!

Advice please. TJ (baby bump) is due to arrive in July when Imogen will be a little over 2.5yrs. I don't really want a double pram of any kind because I don't think we'd use it for long, think they're pretty cumbersome and really want Imogen to walk. She's pretty good at walking, but I know she'll get tired so want to canvas opinions from those of you with experience on what the options are.

I don't think a buggy board or similar will fit on our pram (it's an M&P Luna - http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/search/?query=Luna%20-%20Azure&category=All) It's quite high at the back and I'll need to keep the hood on as it will be part of keeping LO shaded.

I think I've read about a contraption that fits on the side and is actually a seat rather than something to stand on, but can't remember the name.

    Any ideas welcome. TIA

Also, just wanted to share this with you. Imogen's language is coming on in leaps & bounds. Having breakfast the other morning she tipped her cereal and milk on to her lap and the floor (deliberately  ). She said: "Look Mummy, what a bloomin' mess! I've got an idea, let's clean it up," :rotfl: Little beggar! She spent the rest of the morning emptying her toys out of various boxes & baskets and saying, "What a bloomin' mess!" Honestly, isn't it bad when you hear your kids saying things you say?!

Quick question for those who have taken babies abroad - Did you take their car seats for the journey from the airport? and did any one take travel cots of just use the hotels? we are off to tenerife in apr and staying in a nice hotel so I think the cot will be fine:confused:

Are you talking about the car seats you get in hire cars? I've had horrendous experiences of those, they don't fit the cars properly, twisted straps, no fitting instructions etc, so I always lug car seats with us on the plane now. Saying that I've only ever taken rear facing stage 1 seats or booster seats for older children, I wouldn't much relish the idea of taking our maxi cosi priori xp which weighs a bloody ton!

She will now say her name and then, if you ask what her full name is, will give you her Sunday name including middle name and surname!
:rotfl: Never heard it called a Sunday name! I've always thought of it as the Naughty Name - ie they KNOW they're in trouble if I call for FirstName SecondName Surname!

LuT- you're thinking of a buggy pod they're pretty expensive and I've seen a few bad reviews of them
Chris will be 2.5 yrs when bump comes and I'm hoping to use a sling for baby so Chris can use buggy, as we can't use buggy board either if not I'll prob end up getting a phil n teds as can remove the extra seat when Chris will be at nursery/pre-school pt time once he's 3.

PinkP - we didn't take either when we went skiing we had booked a taxi transfer with a child seat but there wasn't one when we got there so we had to do without  the cot was fine but I suggest taking ur own bedding as they often provide a duvet for babies (not sure if they would in summer in tenner-reefy tho) oh make sure you request the cot beforehand esp if traveling with big name like thompson etc I've heard of people turning up and requesting them to be told there's none left and the suggestion of a bottom drawer!

Savvy - I thought everyone knew about sunday names! even our dogs have them :rotfl:
