Very quiet in here isn't it? Where is everyone? Or are your new year resolutions not to MSE anymore?
We had a funny episode yesterday when visiting family - one cousin has a dog which barks if you don't play with it. Joseph was apprehensive at first, but then he started growling back at it. It was the cutest thing, a tiby toddler going 'raaaagghhh' in the face of a barking golden retriever. I'll have to watch him in the park, lest he tries to get friendly with more evil doggies.

  • Happy New Year to all MSE Mummy's and children!

I'm now the very proud Mummy of Jamie Jack born at 00:22am on Sunday 28 December 2008 weighing a 'whopping' 10lb 12.5oz!. After being induced last Saturday morning, I gave birth with gas & air - a total contrast to Poppy's entrance into the world!

Happy new year everyone even if we are already 4 days into it! Can't believe how quickly the time is passing, Matthew is 6 weeks today already and he gave me the biggest, real, proper first smile earlier today! Isn't it funny how that can make you forget the lack of sleep and make you all emotional. Just when you think you've got over the post-birth hormones lol!

Keely - how's Elliot now? Rosie had reflux but it was from when she was first born, literally only hours old. We struggled through it with just infacol (she was poor at bringing up wind too) as although we were offered gaviscon, at the time, it sounded like more hassle than it was worth, but perhaps things have changed in the last 4 years (she will be 4 next monday OMG!). (We weren't offered infacol by GP and had to buy it ourselves).

If he is quite sicky after being fed and needs a sleep have you tried raising the head end of his cot? We used to prop the end of her cot up with a bit of old kitchen work top or books! Just enough to raise the head end slightly helped a bit and stopped her being quite so sick!

Sami - will PM you re FB!

Hope everyone else and the LOs have got over the bouts of sickness/illness you were all suffering before christmas and are enjoying healthy starts to 2009! x

He hasn't been too bad since changing the teats on his bottles, i'm keeping my fingers crossed :o i'm hoping we don't need to go down the gaviscon route-i've heard about it causing constipation? i've heard about propping the cot up a bit-sounds like a good idea :o thank you
