Morning all
We're just recovering from two days of presents and have managed to persuade Imogen that there won't be any more as of yesterday.
I'm a bit annoyed because I knew she'd get confused with presents on consecutive days, which is why we asked everyone not to buy for her birthday - we have a BBQ for her on her 'half-day' on 26 June and she gets presents then. Plus OH's family have an obsession with seeing her on her birthday AND Christmas, so we get a house full two days back-to-back (or get to run around ferrying her to random people's houses.)
All I wanted for her birthday was to do something nice the three of us - preferably all day. But as OH pointed out, there isn't much open. We did manage a walk in the afternoon but it felt like the world and his wife was out walking too. Might just go abroad next year, although it will be first Xmas for new baby so that will go down like a lead zepplin (plus finances prob won't stretch).
Had a bad day yesterday just feeling ick. Couldn't put my finger on why but didn't want to eat and was wiped out with tiredness. Feel much better today and at least Imogen slept through (she's a bit insecure having spent 3 weeks away from home, plus has a new single bed which she falls out of on alternate nights!)
Enough from me for now, time to get everyone some breakfast. We're all still in PJs, hurrah!MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -
Hi all
belated Happy birthday to imogen!
Lu T I know how you feel about things to do on the winter birthdays. My ds1 is at the end of nov and most if not all activities are closed then. We make do with all year round type stuff like the cinema usually but obviously couldn't do that when he was small. Anyway over the years we've done more ball pit parties than you could care to imagine lol!
We did do the "just us" thing for ds2's big day this year and despite the fact I felt like I should do a party it was great and I didn't regret not doing one....I've always done parties for ds1 and he's grown to expect them so I've learned my lesson :0). We went to a local farm park for a day out but I'm not sure if that would have been possible later on in the year. You could always try a couple of days in london doing the cheap travelodge thing (my ex does this every year with ds1) there's always loads to do there. This years ds1 is going to see high school musical, has been to kew and is going to a concert on new years eve....he now officially has a better social life than me!MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -
Yes, happy birthday Imogen.
Joseph is having a great time, we're still at Mum's and there's plenty of people to play with and space to run around in. He didn't open any presents, as was too busy, but what do they care at that age.
I had a lovely Xmas . We had our main meal on Xmas Eve and I was careful to have very little fatty stuff, but apparently I overdid it anyway. In pain all xmas day, don't remember much about it. Got SIL to take me to A&E that night, so don't remember much of boxing day either. I have absolutely no idea what day it is now, am on lots of meds and still in pain and just waiting for it to stop so they can cut me open! Happy New Year . On the bright side I'm eating very little and disappearing before my very eyes. GP will be pleased at least.
Still managed to make it to a Next Sale though :p if only for a short time late at night.
Hope you're all better!

Ahh, Next Sale! Am just stocking up on some maternity stuff as I'm at that awkward stage where normal clothes are too tight and maternity stuff too big. I raided my old maternity clothes and wore a pair of size 14 jeans on Boxing Day but had to put on a belt to hold them up as there was about 4 inches too much on the waist!
Managed to get some size 14 jeans from Gap Outlet in the sale for £9.78 and a lovely stretchy dress from Next clearance for £8 so don't feel so bad about proposing to spend nealry £100 on the rest of my maternity wardrobe (it would cost nearer £200 full price!). Just about to have a quick browse on Ebay to see if there are any bargains.
I've been thinking about Sami-Bee's 'young mummy' status and initially thought, "oh yeah, I'm in that club,". Then I remembered I'll be 30 when TJ arrives next year and was 27 when I had Imogen, so guess I'm proud to be an average mummy! I was only 24 (2 weeks of 25) when I got married, so that was on the young side for these days. Thanks Sami-Bee, am all depressed about my 30th now!;)MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Elliot's off to the doctors tomorrow, his cough is back but is looser this time not dry and i want to make sure he's ok.
I still reckon hes teething, he's not in the best of moods today. He's been sleeping more at night though thankfully.

Lu, sorry for making you feel old
Maybe you could tell everyone your going abroad when your not so they leave you alone
Caz I know its a bit late but when Chris was ill last month he slept or just sat still on the sofa for pretty much 20 out of the 24hrs of the day, I tend to put just a light sheet on him if his temp is up then if it goes down when I check in the night I put a thicker one on.
Ps. MY DADDY IS HOME!!!! he was let out of hospital this afternoon so I took him some left over lamb stew that I made yesterday and he said it was "smashing"
my mum is so pleased to have him home  0 -
thanks put him up in babaygrow no vest and no sleeping bag, he looked at me as if to say have you forgotten lol!! straight to sleep and im up and down checking on him, he seems fine enough just think im on panic mode tonight?
wow Sami didnt think they would let him out so soon!! nothing better than being home and some good food to make you feel better:DWhat's for you won't go past you0
