I am sure I speak for more than myself, but I would definitely like to hear more from you than just nappy rash muti :D .

Is Danny walking yet. Sam has been for ages. In fact she learnt how to walk, got sick, forgot how to walk and now has re-learnt again  .

    why thank you :D
oh god yes, hes been on his feet since 11 months, he just seemed to get up and wander off one day, and that was it!
he has gone to bed early tonight cos he was especially tired, he used to fall asleep for his nap at bang on 11am every day but for the last few weeks he isnt interested in napping at all... even when you can see he is tired, he might only go down for 10 minutes, its like he is scared of missing something!
its really thrown him cos he doesnt last the day without a good nap, he is normally in bed for about 7pm but he was akimbo at 6 tonight.... poor lad.

Samantha also used to go to sleep in the morning. To start with it was about 10am, then it was about 12 nonn (but I found she used to she slept right through lunch then), but now I am able to stretch her a little bit longer and she has lunch about 12:30 and then goes down for a sleep not long after. If I am lucky she sleep for up to 2.5 hour but it is usually just over an hour. She is up at about 7am, and goes down at about 7:30 in the evening.

    Stinky nappy calls ..................:rotfl:

LO is just the same CG, always afraid he is missing out on something. Yesterday he originally woke up at 5 but got him to have an extra few hours till 7.30. he then wouldnt have a nap at all despite his eyes hanging. Eventually OH got him to sleep at 5.30 till 7 (left him a bit too long I think) but then he wouldnt go to bed last night and finally gave in at 10.45!!! Mind you at least he is starting to sleep all the way through.

What do you use for dry skin.. LO seems to have loads on his upper arms, legs and some on his belly. Was going to use e45 but wondered if there was anything better.
Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.

We just use a mix of aqueous cream and Calendula ointment - about a pea-sized amount of Calendula ointment to a tablespoon-sized amount of aqueous cream! Smells really nice and is soothing too.

Lush Dream Cream works a treat on DS - the e45 didn't help him at all.

On another note, DS has nits!!! :o I am mortified, but have informed nursery, and all of our other friends with small children that we see.
A nitty gritty comb has put paid to the little blighters for now, but I'll be checking regularly in future. I really didn't think his hair was long enough!

Really don't worry about them, they aren't really harmful and are easy to get rid off (for a while).

lol I got told off for going too often as I used to go once every couple of weeks initially.....

QUICK QUESTION FOR ANY OF YOU THAT USE NURSERIES AND OR CHILDMINDERS

As LO is still not sleeping during the day, I'm thinking about either using a childminder or nursery a couple of hours a week just to get a bit of time to do the chores that I can't do with him around or after bedtime. Do you think that, that is possible at a nursery/childminders or will they likely want to do a whole 4hr session (which I can't afford and don't really want LO at nursery environment that long yet)?

    MANY THANKS ALL!!
I used to get Chris weight every week for about 6mths saw the same 2 HVs every week and they never told me off :D

Well I don't think you would get a nursery to take him just for 2hrs they would prob want at least a full AM or PM session.

Childminders it depends, I'd give a few a call and see what they say, some are only interested in full time 5days a week others are happy to have them for a few hours a week.

Do you have a surestart creche nearby? ours only works in 2hr slots so could be ideal for you, but I must warn you there is a 3mth waiting list for space at ours!
went I need an hour to my self I pop Chris in his cot with the portable dvd player on the chest of drawers, he'll happily watch for an hour before starting to play up

Js_o_h - don't be mortified! nits don't like dirty hair so he must be nice and clean :D unfortunately some parents ignore them and let their kids merrily pass them on to all and sundry

Maz - olive oil is good, try to not put any soap in the bath just give him a rinse in plain water or pop some oillatum (sp) in the bath you can usually get it cheep in home bargains or ask your HV they are happy to give scripts for bath oil and lotion round here.
Try to put oil/cream on him at any opportunity such as nappy change time
