Well, between you and me, the last few times it's happened, I might have been a little bit deaf if you know what I mean!
We've just had a week of hell, I tried to put her in the toddler bed, she's got a gate on her bedroom doorway, and she initially settled ok, only to end up totally hysterical. The cot is still in the room but she didn't want to go in that and didn't want to go in the bed, just cried for hours (and I mean *hours*, til about midnight!!). Eventually DH got her to go to sleep in the cot, but for five nights afterwards, she went hysterical at bedtime.
Have now given up again and gone back to the cot. She doesn't try to climb out, so I figure I'm going to leave it until she asks to go in the bed. Can't see the point of going through hell. Olivia couldn't sleep through the racket, so I ended up with 2 of them crying hysterically at one point. :rolleyes:0 -
Grrrr its nearly always me that gets up for Henry in the night. OH claims he cant hear him! I'd started to get him falling asleep in his cot rather than with me (bad habit I know) and we have been going great guns as he was sleeping through from 9-6ish. Last night I dont know what was wrong as he woke up 4 times and then was wide awake at 5! Scooped him up into our bed and OH then woke up. He got him back to sleep before he went to work and we went through till 6. Its blooming annoying though as I still have to go to work. Just because OH has driving job he thinks he has priority to sleep!!!
At least I managed to get a seat on the train today though so grabbed an extra 20 mins. Ah the joys of motherhood:rolleyes:Mum to 2 lovely boys who keep me busy.0 -

I've just been upstairs to put some towels away and heard Jack call out for me, I went in and found him lying completely naked in bed and he'd emptied out the contents of his bedside drawers (just socks, vests, pj's etc). He must have done it in the last 90 mins but we hadn't heard as the tv was up load. He doesnt have a monitor anymore as he can get out of bed.
Firstly I am impressed that he didn't get out of bed and tell me he was naked (he doesn't get out of bed anymore he's good as gold). But I had to get DH and show him what hed done without laughing. DH was not amused and firmly but fairly told him off and asked him to say sorry. Jack knew he wasn't amused as afterwards he climbed into bed and pulled the duvet over his head and wouldn't look at us. We tidied everything up and threated him with dummy removal if he does it again.
Tomorrow I'll find a suitable piece of string and tie it through the handles.
Oh joy, we are at the bedtime nappy removal stage. Would pull ups help or would he tug at the sides to rip open?
My fault he's still awake, he had 2.5 hrs day nap, i fell asleep on the sofa, so he slept on today.
It is funny though, go on tell me its funny - (whisper....don't tell Jack).
PS he didn't wee in the bed either. (don't think i'd have found it funny then though).
Chris knows that pull ups rip open at the sides so I'm sure your LO would work it out too:rolleyes: he can also pull them off properly so I'm soo glad he doesn't do it often
on monday I had a shower then a nap while Chris napped, He usually sleeps 1-2hrs so I didn't set an alarm to wake me or anything - He ended up sleeping for 4hrs  he eventually gave in to sleep at 10:45pm0 -
Ds is still in poppered vests to preempt any attempt he might make regarding his nappies...lol.The IVF worked;DS born 2006.0

Yep, it's poppered vests for us at night too - for exactly that reason. OH went up one night to find her naked from the waist down and trying to put her nappy on Oopsy Daisy :rotfl:
Bailey - I did find it funny though!
Becles - my nephew was like Charlotte, it was mummy or no sleep at bedtime. They think it's because only mummy ever put him to bed but this resulted in hysterics and a panic-ed call to MIL when SIL went away on a course. They spent two weeks both putting him to bed (the whole routine, bath, everything) and then gradually went to daddy doing it at least every other day. This was something she warned me about when I was pg with Imogen, so we've both always done bath & bedtimes. Now either one of us (or my mum, MIL or SIL, even mum's friend) can put her in bed and she doesn't normally bother.
Although I laughed last week when we'd put her in bed and were having our tea downstairs, only to be disturbed by the strains of Imogen's singing (song unidentified, not the normal Baa Baa or Wind the bobbin up). We stood at the bottom of the stairs and suppressed giggles for a good few minutes before she heard us :rotfl:MSE Parent Club Member #1Yummy slummy mummy club member50% slummy, 50% mummy, 100% proudImogen born Boxing Day 2006Alex born 13 July 20090 -

Thanks keely and bailey for replies re reflux. LO has to be referred to paedratician as so bad. He has the silent reflux which is more common in prem babies. Hopefully wont be too long before we get appt as I cant bear seeing him in so much pain.

Hope everyone is well and getting over their sickness
Gem- my LO was also 6 weeks early. How often was Alex weighed? Mine is 11 weeks old and not been weighed for the last 5 weeks. I've left messages on HV answer phone but she hasn't got back to me. I'm not too concerned as I can see that he is putting on some weight. Just wondering how often they should be checked on?
Alex was weighed every two days in hospital and then every week until he was 2 months old. After that the health visitor stopped coming to the house and just told me to pop down to the baby clinic (held once a week at my GP practice) whenever I wanted.
As I think my HV is as mad as a box of frogs :rotfl: I haven't been very frequently. Saw her last week after a gap of three months (oops). Alex is now 5 1/2 months and weights 11 lb 15oz so not exactly a massive baby. I got told to start weaning asap ... and in the same breath she told me to start feeding every 3 hours instead of every 4 and drop 1 feed - how exactly is that going to make him pile on the pounds????0 -
I don't think i've mentioned it here, correct me if I have but good news, Ian has a new job starting 2 February. Its less money but it does mean that he'll be home around 5pm most nights rather than anytime between 7.30-10pm. It means we can eat as a family and he can take the kids over the park(out of our back gate) before bed and generally see them during the week. I'm so looking forward to it, i;ve waited so long as I've often felt like a single mum during the week.

That's brilliant news bailey! Really happy for you and your family. Well done Mr Bailey!:beer:0
