Thanks for the MMR replies. I have concerns due to some family things, so going to think about it and read read read. It's not the autism link but MMR is a live vaccine and some vulnerable groups should not have live vaccines. We'll see.

Not sure if I mentioned whether I fell down the stairs last week? The reason I'm saying is that my front and back ribs have been getting progressively more painful over the last week and it's hard to take a deep breath. Been to the doctor and he said it's probably a broken or bruised rib and to take co-codamol and ibruprofen. Got out of there and realised I didn't mention I was still breast fedding - does anyone know if they are safe to take or how I can find out? Thanks

I think over the counter strengths are ok, but stronger versions on prescription can be harmful. I would check with the pharmacist tomorrow though just to make sure.

Hope you feel better soon xx
Here I go again on my own....
  • Thanks all. Was thinking they would probably be cheaper to buy than use prescription but just realised I have my maternity exemption card - that does cover prescriptions doesn't it?

yep get the doc to give you a prescription for painkillers (co codamol is the best i reckon - thats what i was on after my c section). prescriptions are free for year after baby born.

I keep forgetting about that as well. When I went to get the bullets Dr prescribed for my swollen tonsils thought was looking for the money for prescription and then suddenly remembered about exemption card, even my dentist reminded me the other week. Part of tooth broke and needed repair and he said if that doesnt work make sure you come back before your card runs out as some of the other repairs can be expensive !!

Glad to inform you all that feeling a lot better (bullets must be working) although still a bit of a struggle to swallow especially hot drinks and tea tastes horrible which is awful considering I usually drink 10-12 cups a day !!! LO at nursery as bum settled down ,... fingers crossed for rest of day!!
PS thanks for all the hugs icon7.gif

Just to clarify in case I confused anyone - the cells aren't actually in the vaccine, they are used to make it (the same way soil isn't in carrots but soil is used to grow them). As far as the rightness or otherwise of using the vaccine goes, it is up to each individual to follow their conscience. I am not seeking to debate the matter as I don't think this is an appropriate place to do so.
