the answer to this problem is TIGHTS! Under trousers for boys, in primary colours.

It was the only answer for DS2, who would have lost all his toes to frostbite without tights.

I never really found as good an answer for DS3, who would never keep mittens on, and then cried because his hands were cold, but my mum did knit me some I could tie on!

Yes I used to use them with ds1 but haven't been able to find any that aren't pink in the shops for DS2 - do you know any shop that stocks them in not so girlie colours? red etc is ok just not pink lol.:D

My advice for when its getting cold is a nice snuggly all in one suit then they're stuck in it and they look all cute like maggie on the simpsons when she looks like a star :starmod::rotfl:
Cute on a baby, not such a good look on a proper toddler who still insists on pulling his socks off ...

Other people will have to give suggestions here, because my sock refusnik has just left for University! I think our pairs came from Mothercare, however, via my best friend whose daughter had outgrown them. We had red, navy and white. Didn't wear the white very often.

Completely OT, but I've just been doing a few searches. The Woolworths site couldn't find any matches for Girls Tights, but offered me a book on Monastic Tithes in the Twelfth Century instead. Never knew they offered such things ... :rotfl:

Have you had a look for tights in the school uniform section? I've bought black and navy ones for my boys there before, and the sizes go down quite small as some little ones wear uniforms in nursery these days.

They still wear tights when we go to football matches in the winter to keep their legs warm, but I'm not supposed to tell anyone that :D

Hee hee my best mates hubby wears her tights under is overalls for work in the winter :shhh:

another way of keeping boys toes warm is converse hi-tops they're a bit of a pain to put on but no matter how hard Chris tried he couldn't undo them enought to get to his socks. I got him these for our wedding coz I didn't want to waste money on a pair of clumpy posh shoes he'd never wear again he looked so cute!!

hi all, what a lovely picture sami_bee.

james is almost 9 weeks old and has not done a number 2 in three days, ive tried water and that isnt working, i am breastfeeding, hes got thrush on his tongue, eating and weeing a lot, did anyone else go those this with there little ones? he is fine in himself and doing lots of smellly pumps
  • Hi Carol :) 9 weeks! You're doing great. Breastfed babies can go quite a long time without a poo - 10 days is on the far end of the scale but still perfectly normal. The reason is that there is very little waste from breastmilk so it is all used up, pretty much!

I would not give water at this age, your milk will be enough :)

Have you got treatment for the thrush?

awww he looks cute Sami_Bee

I can remember Charlotte going a few days without a poo carol9uk. It's right that breastmilk has little waste. As long as James is not in any discomfort, it should work it's way out eventually. Make the most of it as once they get on solid food, their poo's smell rank :D

  • Soooo proud of DS, hes been at fulltime school a month and is doing so well already! Hes filled 2 of his sticker charts and got certificates for them. And the school do a thing called Learning Heros, where each month the teachers choose 3 children from each year group that have worked really hard and my little man got it this month! He had to stand up in assembly to get his certificate, and have his photo taken. I got a copy of it thru the post today! Dead proud! :)
