I'm, currently looking into child care and I have got some days at work penciled in for mid November, my daughter is 7 months old and breast fed, she has always refused a bottle (she does have water out of a sippy cup but hasn't completely mastered it at the moment, more water ends up on her, than in her).
I am trying to work out what to do about her lunchtime milk feed when I am at work. I have never been able to express so I am thinking I will have to introduce formula (but want to continue to breast feed when I am around).
Have you go any tips about what formula to use?. How and when to introduce the formula? Do you think it is worth introducing a bottle this late in the day or should I just try and give her formula in a sippy cup?0 -
Hi cathie, I never got the hang of expressing, DS quite happily takes Cow & Gate when I'm not around though - have also used Aptamil which was fine too.
I would not bother with bottles at this age. I have a cupboard full of cups, with almost every one you can buy - this is a favourite with DS for milk or water.0 -

i think i would just use a cup. hopefully your wee one will take formula cos i've tried my boy on it a few times with no success, he'll take it for maybe 2 days and then refuse it until i give up! He did seem to like SMA the best. Well he likes the boobie best and it looks like thats all he'll be getting cos i'm fed up trying anything else!DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY

Woohoo, great news Carol
(it's funny how excited you can get about a poo once you become a mum!)
Cathie, I agree with others, I wouldn't bother with bottles either, just offer a cup, it's easier in the long run. Also, is your DD going to be about 8 months by the time you go back? I'd say at that age even if she doesn't have huge quantities of formula at lunch time, it should be fine, so I wouldn't stress about it.0 -
Just to let everyone know we have our first tooth:j.... only found it when I was checking her mouth whilst she was asleep and it dosnt seem to have bothered her at all...still sleeping thru for 12 hrs - only difference is she has seemed to want her bottle rather than food but this I can cope with19.6.10 Weight loss 6lb0

Well done Ruby :j
I've never really had teething bother with any of my three. They've been a little grotty at times and I've had to use Bonjella, but never had any major bother. Here I go again on my own....0 -
