Well I can beat all of your illnesses (well maybe not poor molly) but its not Chris its my dad, today he was diagnosed with pneumonia  they think he'll be out for Christmas *fingers crossed*
Chris shocked me today by having a 2.5hr nap which he did not want to be woken from!he hardly ever naps these days and when he does never for more than an hour.

Sickness, it is definitely the season for it.
I got knocked out Thursday night with V&D ... was up the whole night and was so weak and pathetic yesterday morning that my DH (who is overseas with his folks) phoned my friend up the road and she took my boys to school and then took Samantha for the morning ... so I was able to sleep. thank goodness my symtoms had gone by then but it is so scary being ill with 3 children. I finally started eating again last night and have been okay today, just trying to build up my strength, but poorly babies, I hope they get better soon.
Santa brings DH back to us ... unfortunately he is leaving him at Gatwick and I have the pleasure of 2.5h journey with 3 children leaving at 6am to look forward to ... and of course Xmas dinner when we get back :rolleyes:0 -
Hope everyone recovers in time to have a lovely Christmas.
My foot has been feeling a bit weird for a few days and this evening it's got worse and I can't put any weight on my right heel. I can't see anything wrong with it. It's probably nothing but I thought I'd join the sicky clubHere I go again on my own....0 -

Anyway, I share my best tip for a Christmas tradition with you all. Christmas Eve, 3 pm, Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols 1* on Radio 4, and ALL the boys gather round the kitchen table armed with the veg peeler 2* and knife 3* of their choice. I crack open the Festive Drinks and Nibbles - fizzy, milkshakes, chocolate etc - and no-one leaves until ALL the veg are ready for The Big Day.
This has two advantages: one is that you get all the veg prepared without having to do it all yourself. The other is that you don't suddenly remember that you intended to do carrots as well as sprouts, but you've no time to peel the carrots now.
Actually, on that point, I now write down everything I'm intending to cook in roughly the order it needs to be started, I don't get as technical as giving it all timings, but it does avoid finishing the meal and remembering I forgot the bread sauce, say! :rotfl:
1* Singing along to the Carols is optional, but I do. Until the boys beg me to stop. Which is very unfair because honestly I have a decent voice! AND I know some of the descants.
2* Some time ago, someone wanted to cull my collection of potato peelers. I explained that the yellow one was MY favourite, the green one was DS2's favourite, the fat black one was DS2's favourite, and the think black one was DS3's favourite. And yes, we did need ALL of them. If you don't already have a range of different styles, I do recommend it.
3* Obviously the knife is only allowed when they're old enough not to slice their fingers off or stab each other, but that was surprisingly young here!Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
umm I feel quite left out having now seemingly got over my little tummy bug and feeling about as healthy as I'm going to (bad back and other aches besides). However LO is coldy and waking every 3 hrs or so and OH is coming down fast with a nasty cold too so I wouldn't be too surprised if I had another cold for christmas.
Still I was a fully paid up member of the overdue club 13 mths ago so I'm glad to be left out of this little club (for now lol).
Little one is growing really quickly at the moment and has matured mentally too - I was quite shocked the other day when during the course of my usual burbles to him I asked him if he wanted a yoghurt and he said yes (or rather yeth :0) once again though he hasn't repeated this momentus event and has again become the quiet industrious little boy he normally is. I am quite looking forward to seeing him open his presents this year though as we taught him how on his birthday (first) and now whenever he sees me wrap a present for someone he trys very hard to repeat the experience (while I try equally hard to prevent him lol).MSE PARENT CLUB MEMBER.ds1 nov 1997ds2 nov 2007:jFirst DDFirst DD born in june:beer:.0 -

:T When we're at Chris's Nonna & Pops's he goes and helps himself to allsorts from their fridge - usually grapes  (not so good when he finds a nice big pot of custard tho!)0 -
Wow, I've read about them and thought I'd had a few, but boy is this bad. The lovely gallstones my darling son left me with have been letting themselves be known. When I was just about ready for someone to cut me open and get them blighters out I got to see an out of hours doctor who said 'it doesn't hurt enough to be serious, take some paracetamol' To top that off dear OH decided that since I don't care when he's in pain (which is AAALLLLL the time!! hypochondriac) then he doesn't care either, so got no sympathy. This weekend has been quite horrid. I'll never get a tree up at this rate!
On a happier note: Joseph is starting to come out with things too, which is sooooo adorable. Little words and little gestures, like a proper little understanding human. Daddy does spend time training him though .:wall:0
