Hello, i have just found this thread.
I am a mum to a 14 month old baby girl and am in the middle of being made redundant, have a second interview today with a bank so fingers crossed i'll get the job.
Hoping to get advice and tips x0 -
My parents are still horrified when I fill Joseph's cup from the tap, so I do it in secret when with them . But then they wouldn't drink it themselves. When are they allowed bottled mineral water?
We are going through a stage atm. Though it is a stage of stages and you never know what to expect. He woke from his nap this afternoon crying as if in pain inconsolably and whatever I tried to do to help was met with a smack in the face tantrum. Nice. This evening he clung unto daddy's legs for dear life. Then wouldn't eat his meal without hours of gentle persuasion (we took this in turns as it is extremely irritating) as he was hungry, but angry at the same time. In between he was happy, fine, eager for biscuits (grrr just because OH can eat desert before his meal does not mean our son should).
Tomorrow he's going for an extra childminder session as they're having Santa visit, if only he understood how cool that is!
Bailey, I hope Molly gets better soon. Give her a big healthy hug from us! Okay, maybe not 100% healthy, but a simple runny nose seems unimportant.
Hi my little was born the 14th oct 2007 :T0 -
Can Poppy and I please join the Sickness Club?! We have both woke up this morning with a cough and a cold...just in time for Christmas!.
Hope all babies get better soon :A.
Still awaiting the arrival of my son who is already 2 days late!. I guess he is playig the same game as his sister did last year.

Aaah, yes, I remember that day well. I finished packing, grew more and more nervous, tidied up a bit, had dinner and got driven to the hospital where people did unspeakable things to my privates in the name of induction. Lovely day.
SB - I had a cough/cold at 40 weeks last year. It was ... quite unpleasant (what a lie, but can't swear on here). And stop inventing clubs, Overdue Club was so cool, everyone wanted to join. Now the Sickness Club!!?? No!:wall:0 -
Agutka, how can the overdue club be cool??? "Everyone wanted to join".....why???
I couldn't wait for Molly to come out, was convinced she'd be early like her brother and she took an extra week to think about things. I was so fed up and desperate for her to arrive.
I agree with you on the sickness club though.........now that's bad!
Off topic, but I really should put the terry's choc orange back in the fridge, its getting perillessly close to the end. Oops!0 -
Well, from what I can remember - because of SB - for a month or two only one or two people gave birth on time. The rest of us overcooked their bumps. There must have been something in it! Personally I wanted to be part of it as we were renovating the house and even on my due date the house was not ready. But two weeks was a bit silly...
Can I have a piece of the choc orange for hubby please?:wall:0 -
ahhh...i remember it well,
I was steering as clear as i could from the overdue club.... couldnt face the idea of even being a day late let alone a week or more,
i got my c section 1 whole day early! and i believe i helped break the chain of overdue types??
SB - cant believe your late again! (or even that your due already! lol)
good luck hun...
I saw an old friend yesterday that i havent seen for ages and he pounced on me in the high street and said "OHHHH! i had a dream about you last night!!!! you were pregnant!"
thats all i need....god help me!0 -

Hi girls
We are also in the sickness not-a-club. OH has a chest infection and sick note until Xmas Eve, from when he is on holiday until 12 Jan. I've been off all week with some kind of virus (not an infection apparently so I stuck it out with just paracetamol. Can you believe I can't even have cough medicine as am preg?!!)
Upstairs there are 5 guys banging, drilling and cutting, and we are soooo nearly there :T :j :j I have finished painting DD's room this am. Just a coat of paint on the ceiling and a few sheets of wallpaper and we'll be ready for carpets on Monday.
I spoke to Imogen on the phone this morning (she's back at my mum's) and she is very excited about coming home to her new bedroom. She also wants to help decorate the Xmas tree we just bought (not very MSE but I REFUSE to have Xmas with a 2 year old and no tree!)
Re poos - my nephew was very funny about poos until he was past three. HV thought it was a control thing - just the one thing he could still control. He insisted on having a nappy on to poo and had some kind of fear of the 'space' in the toilet if he had to sit down on it.
Swimming sounds like a great motivator though and I'd keep up that train of thought, perhaps combined with some kind of [STRIKE]rewards[/STRIKE] bribe for when he sits on the toilet and an even bigger one for when he does something. A friend of mine bought a load of little treats from the £1 shop, wrapped them up in paper and gave her boy one every time he did something. She only had to use three. HTH?
Merry Cristmas to everyone if I don't make it back before then. Hope you all have a healthy & happy festive season. :xmassign:
