  • Can't comment on poo potty training as i havne't gone there yet, DS doesn't seem bothered or care less. But I do hope it works out for you over the holidays. Please let us know.

Molly update, she nearly had another febrile convulsion last night and took her to oncall doctor. Found out she has a chest infection AND an ear infection on top of tonsellitus and conjunctivitus. The poor little lady has just a total respiratory infection and feeling rubbish. He changed her meds and today after a sleepless night from me checking her (due to rapid breathing) she seems a bit brighter. Still very sensitive and very tired, bless. Trying to keep her in the warm, but its hard with a very busy and active 2yr too.

oh bailey, poor little molly and you, hope she starts to improve soon.

when did everyone stop boiling and cooling water and just give it straight from the tap? i'm finding all different answers on the net. he never takes that much, just a sip or two with his food.

also should i be at all worried that he's off his food at the minute (is it due to teething?), still breast feeding so he's getting that, but am worried that he'll refuse food for ages and go off eating altogether!!
    DON'T WORRY BE HAPPY ;)

I think it was 12mths with the water but not deff on that!
Is he taking any food? Chris used to go through phases of refusing things so I'm sure he'll be fine he's only young still :)

  • I have always just given Elliot water from the tap, but as I did not wean until 6 months he didn't have water before then either.

The food thing might be teething but either way it'll just be a phase... that's what I tell myself whenever Elliot decides to throw every single piece of food on the floor with a big grin
  • My two have always gone off food when teething or regress back a stage i.e. lumps to mush or puree etc. Sometimes if they've not eaten a meal or a yog, i've topped up with a small bottle of milk instead (liqued lunch).

Re water, my HV said tap is ok from 6 months so I did that with both too. Before that cooled boiled water should be given.

Put it this way they won't starve themselves and always get back to eating again when their appetites return. If you think of yourself when feeling tootheachey or poorly, the last thing you want is food. Doesn't stop you wanting it when feeling better though.

My parents are still horrified when I fill Joseph's cup from the tap, so I do it in secret when with them . But then they wouldn't drink it themselves. When are they allowed bottled mineral water?
We are going through a stage atm. Though it is a stage of stages and you never know what to expect. He woke from his nap this afternoon crying as if in pain inconsolably and whatever I tried to do to help was met with a smack in the face tantrum. Nice. This evening he clung unto daddy's legs for dear life. Then wouldn't eat his meal without hours of gentle persuasion (we took this in turns as it is extremely irritating) as he was hungry, but angry at the same time. In between he was happy, fine, eager for biscuits (grrr just because OH can eat desert before his meal does not mean our son should).
Tomorrow he's going for an extra childminder session as they're having Santa visit, if only he understood how cool that is!

Bailey, I hope Molly gets better soon. Give her a big healthy hug from us! Okay, maybe not 100% healthy, but a simple runny nose seems unimportant.

I think I gave Charlotte tap water from about 6 months or so.

Taking Charlotte to a Christmas carol service at school this morning. She didn't really take much interest in Christmas last year, but she's hyper this year! We get up on a morning and she goes "dis on" and points to all the fairy lights until I turn them on. Also got a tree outside on a timer and some mini trees on the lawn and up the side of the drive, so she has to look out the front door and check those are on too :D
Here I go again on my own....

Hi ladies, i'm so excited about xmas now! My hubby breaks up from work today, and has two weeks off. He's really looking forward to spending time with us. I'm taking Elliot into his work today though, as everyone wants to see him again! We took him in when we registered his birth, as my hubby works upstairs for the council. Elliot gets more cards then us!!
