fritha - when oz was little (hear me "little" - he's only 7 months now!) i danced with him, sang songs, walks, read him books, he had an activity mat (which he still lies on at nearly 7 months), and a bouncy chair with an activity arch (which he managed to tip about 2 weeks ago so is now in the attic!), thats about all i can think of right now.

I only got Elliot some Calpol the other week for Elliot (whos three months)...it was on the shelf and no questions asked? The nurse told me to get some, for before he had his jabs and in case of a reaction?

its night capol and I think cal-cough too:confused: (the medicines is question are only available from behind counter so pharmasist will usually ask how old or if you've had it before) there was a big fuss made in the media at the time but as someone said I just say its for my "other" child or now I say he's 2 coz they can't tell he's not.
Its the anti-histamine ingredient that is the issue I think its phenegan which dries out the mucus membranes (ie less snot) and also side affect is drowsiness

Just to let you all know Huggies wipes are on offer in Morrisons 9 packs for £7 also the pampers baby dry jumbo and mega boxes are on offer The size 5 that I get are £8.98 for a jumbo box (74 nappies) i think and usually £10 in asda I got a mega box which was 100 nappies for £14
be quick if you want them coz ours only had 3 boxes of wipes and I took them all

Hello girls  I've been off-line for a while as staying at my MIL's while we have our building work done.

The good news is that we're on track to move Imogen in on 23rd December. The bad news is that both me and OH have stinking colds and can't yet get to decorating  Luckily Imogen is back at my mum's for another week until Sunday, so hopefully we'll have recovered (and done lots of decorating) by then. (Sami-Bee - can't put down new carpets BEFORE glossing, think of the fluff that will stick to them when we get round to it  )

I was off work on Monday, went in briefly for a meeting before seeing MW for my booking in appt this afternoon and have decided to stay off tomorrow. I can hardly speak or breathe!

Fritha - we had a Tiny Love playmat/arch. I got it off Ebay and I swear it was the best money we spent on ANYTHING for Imogen in those early months. She used it until she was way past 8 months. It had music and light pads on the mat itself for tummy time and colourful things hanging from the arch. http://www.tinylove.com/toy.aspx?toyId=32

Keeley - it's all cough medicines (except basic linctus) and anything with a decongestant or sedative as far as I can see. I got caught this weekend as I spilled the Medised (bought before April when the changes came in) in the middle of the night and ran out of Tixylix at the same time so went to the chemist to ask for some more for my not quite 2 yr old and was told no & given the basic linctus. As she's 2 in less than 2 weeks  and I've been using Medised for months and its the only thing that makes her sleep when she's a cold I decided just to go to another chemist and get a bottle. They didn't even ask how old she was.

If you gloss before carpeting, you WILL get lots of fluff stuck to the skirting board. I've seen it done twice now, the paint just hasn't had sufficient time to harden. I think now I'd prepare (sand down etc), carpet, then use masking tape or a metal guide to keep paint off the carpet.

We're banking on finishing glossing by Saturday with carpets fitted on Monday. Do you think this is enough time?

  • Any other winter 07 mums thinking of TTC? Can you believe we have discussed it  there was me swearing NEVER AGAIN and my word did I mean it. When my GP asked me about contraception at my 6 week check I gave her such a filthy look :rotfl: she changed the subject! It is not exactly on the agenda just yet, I can't submit my body to another pregnancy quite this soon, but maybe in a while  I'd love another boy... or a girl! :)

Nov 07 mum here... and i said NEVER again, and meant it
but here i am 13 months later brooding over how gorgeous the boy is and how much i want to have more children with my fantastic OH,
but i cant do it.... i just cant, having Danny nearly finished me off!
i would have loads of babies if i just didnt have to be pregnant to do it,
which sounds mad as i actually love certain bits of being pregnnat, i love the special feeling, i LOVE the bump, not caring if my tummy is sticking out...im not fat...im preggo etc
all the kicks, nudges and the feeling of creating something amazing with my future husband

then... theres the all day 9 month long "morning" sickness, the chronic heartburn, the acid reflux, the loosening of joints, the stretch marks, the bladder weakness, the fact i cant sleep for the last 6 months, the fact that he was breech and i needed 8.. thats EIGHT epidurals for my c section.... the afterpains....
then the really selfish stuff like the weight problems, the annoying comments from everyone, not having enough money or space, the other two feeling pushed out
    ugh.

    cant i just adopt?
