  • sounds like how i was when i perforated my ear drum (and it went by itself by the way, no one thing 'popped' it)
i was in agony, i found heat helped... and bizarrely an old wives thing i found involving a hot salt in an old sock (salt in sock, heat in micro BEWARE! i set light to my first sock... watch it and dont micro for too long, then hold against your ear, i think its supposed to be like a mini hot water bottle and apparently the salt is supposed to draw out impurities... i dont know about the healing properties of the salt but i liked having a little warm bag on my poorly ear!)

and try to resist the urges to 'clean' your ear with cotton buds, it wont help and you may be pushing wax further in, making things worse.
I feel for you Keeley, its horrible, get well soon

Daphne - crayon nibbles look fab! will be making some of them soon!

try putting a piece of cotton wool in it, spec if you go outside, that always helped a wee bit when i've had a sore ear, until you get to doc's anyway.

  • :santa2: Hi everyone, mind if I join the club? Thought that as Matthew was 3 weeks old yesterday, it was time I migrated across from the pregnancy club!

As you can hopefully see from my newly created signature (if its working  ) I'm a mum of 2.

I'm loving it at the moment, even the sleepless nights although having to contend with a lively 3 yo (she'll be 4 on 12th Jan) whilst surviving on only a few hours sleep is interesting to say the least!

I have some peace at the mo as she goes to nursery on a mon, tues all day and wed am and Matthew is asleep!

Hope everyone else is well today (get well soon Keely), I look forward to getting to know you all and no doubt seeking advice - like how to deal with little boys "bits"! At the mo, I think he must be like a puppy as he keeps "marking his territory" lost count of how many times I've been wee'd on! Its certainly very different having a boy to a girl! Rosie used to spend ages laying "bare bum" on the mat, but daren't try it yet, keep getting images of my room getting sprayed like a fireman's hose going off :rotfl:

Hiya rosiesmum, welcome to the club! :)

I've got two boys so know all about the fireman's hose effect. TBH in the first few weeks they seem to pee contantly so I never left them without a nappy on for more than a few minutes. (Although this was after the infamous first-time mum incident when DS1 peed all over his forehead (!) and I thought it was sweat and thought he was seriously ill for a minute :o )

Daphne, thanks for the crayon thngie link :T - will need to try that! And won't even need to buy any, got enough broken crayons in this house to fill a few muffin trays LOL! :rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon keelykat. It's not teeth bothering you is it? When my tooth was bad, it felt like I had earache as well and heat made it worse.

Nice to meet you rosies mum. My two older children are boys, so I've been pee'd on lots as well. The funniest I've seen was when my Mam was changing one of their nappies and went to blow a raspberry on his tummy, and he wee'd in her face :rotfl:

I'm bouncing off the walls today. Just got my uni exam results for the last module and I got a Grade 2 pass :j

I've got 180 points now, which means I've passed half a degree in just over two years
Here I go again on my own....

Keely My ears have been sore with the cold I've got so maybe it is that.
Hi Rosie (and matthew)s mum! I remember you from the preg club :) as someone has said they do seen to wee non stop in the early days  I found a little puff of air in the nappy then holding it closed for a few seconds before taking it off helped to avoid wet tops, Chris managed to wee in to his own eye when he was just a day old
