The baby clinic for us is every wednesday for an hour at the gp surgery, so no ill people there just parents with babies/toddlers. I can't say i love going, but i like to know every couple of weeks how hes doing weight wise. The health vister still asks how i am, because i did get the baby blues to begin with...but ive been fine for a while now so its getting on my nerves!

i took the other 3 regularly to get weight but havent with charlie as he is a big bruiser and would probably break the scales lol!!!

his teeth have come in funny also he got 2 bottom then 1 top and now has 3 bottom and 3 top???

can i ask if anyone elses LO is so destructive, he just goes around wrecking the place, if anything is in his way he throws it and thinks that my coffee table is not allowed a thing on it! paper is ripped and my poor christmas tree:( i feel that all i do is shout no at him, he plays for a little while with me but prefers to roam around shouting at the dog and on destroy mode. he will be one in january and i dont know what to do with him ahhhhhhhh lol:D
What's for you won't go past you
  • Sounds normal to me Caz, we just bit the bullet and moved anything we don't want him to have out of reach - as for the coffee table, it's for his toys now - I guess I'll reclaim my house in a few years!

Just be persistent with the no and don't give up, otherwise he'll learn you say no for say 3 minutes and then give in which he will use to his advantage!

I find saying no to Charlotte and then showing her a toy or book and telling her she is good when she has that works better than just saying no on it's own.
Here I go again on my own....

Joseph loves rummaging and making a mess. Though he can also tidy up after :happyhear, no idea where he learned that from :rotfl:.
Had a bit of a scare this evening as he was playing with an little ikea chest of little drawers. This used to be in my bedroom before the house spruce up and never made it back up. So we've been witnessing hair accessories flying round, little toys, stationery. What I completely forgot about was the bottom drawer was full of old medicines . Thankfully hubby saw it before baby got in there. :o

Do babies understand little differences - like you can play with this book but I'll shout if you play with that book? Or you can touch the telly but don't press buttons? I know my dog has to get everything in black or white, but surely babies are smarter than that?

I'm not sure babies are smarter than that, not until they're older, at any rate.

Even now, my teenagers will split hairs with me, when they know fine well what I meant!

Well then we can add inconsistency to my fab mothering skills :rotfl:
Is there a shaky head smilie?

  • Agutka I've had to move ALL books - proper ones with words I mean ;) - upstairs and out of the way. I feel your pain.

Agree with Becles regarding consistency and also distraction - I don't like being the mother who spends half an hour just saying no so would rather try to get him interested in something else.

Elliot is just discovering the joys of crayons. After destroying a packet - eating them, breaking them etc, I have made him these and they have gone down a treat :T it's a good way to stop him tearing around for 10 minutes, and I get to indulge my artistic streak ;) drawing him very primitive versions of birds, trees, the sun, etc :rotfl:

can i have a quick moan/feel sorry for myself moment please?.......

ive had a horrible weekend, ive gone deaf in my right ear and had terrible pains in it saturday night.... went to bed crying it was so bad. Rang up NHS helpline who weren't much help, so am hoping to see my gp today. The pains died down but im still deaf, if i try to talk everthing echoes and sounds funny in the other ear. Im so fed up, my mom thinks it could be an inner ear infection....so lets hope the gp can give me something before i go insane.

sorry to moan, its amazing how your hearing can affect you...i cant talk to elliot as im fed up of everything echoing and gives me ear ache even more.
