Agutka, I have sympathy for you.
You poor little thing with nasty gallstones! My auntie had her gallbladder removed a few years back due to many many gallstones and she informed me they are blooming painful!0 -
Sorry to hear that Agutka. I've nursed my Mam who had gallstone problems, and she said it was awfully painful. Hope it settles down and you feel better for Christmas.
Going to have a toy clearout this morning. Charlotte's got stuff she doesn't play with now, like a brick trolley from when she was learning to walk, and a dancing tower thing that she rarely bothers with now. She prefers the MTV dance channel and shakes her booty to the Pusycat Dolls or similar :rotfl:(mis-spelt to beat the auto-censor!)Here I go again on my own....0 -
Need opinions ladies.
Izzy's come down with chickenpox over the weekend. She's not got it very badly at the moment *touch wood*, only a few spots, but quite a few on her face, so it shows. I've got loads to do before christmas, food shopping, last minute gifts etc, so had been planning a trip into town today.
She is in good form, doesn't seem ill, so what should I do. Obviously she is contagious so should I be staying at home to avoid spreading it? What would others do in my shoes?
Should add that I don't really have many childcare options, especially ones who have all had chickenpox, so leaving her with someone isn't particularly an option. Although DH will be off on Wednesday so I could leave it until the mayhem of christmas eve, but that's probably cutting it a bit fine!0 -
I'd keep her at home, sorry. Not for the sake of other kids, but in case a pregnant woman was to catch it. I took Joseph out to the park when he had it, but we kept away from people.
Last time I had to go to Tescos on Xmas Eve I was terrified of the crowds, but it turned out like any other evening, with the added bonus of extra staff and shelves full of goodies, as they had stocked up.
Hope she stays well and the spots don't spread. We had a body-full and they're still not all faded after two months! Grrr.:wall:0 -
Yeah, I'm kind of resigned to it after googling and seeing how it can be dangerous for some people to catch.
I've managed to arrange for Waitrose to hold my turkey until tomorrow evening when DH gets home from work (had reserved it for pickup in the morning) and will try to pick up the remaining food items then as they are open fairly late. DH can put the kids to bed!
What a nightmare. Also DD1 is doing a drama workshop today and tomorrow, which ends with a show at 3.30pm for the parents. Looks like I'm gonna have to miss that too unless I can rope someone in for childcare for an hour or so... :rolleyes:0 -
get well wishes to all those in need!!
well this week charlie has been standing for around amin at a time on his own and is getting confident to walk holding only one of my hands:D he is still destroying the place and creating havoc lol! hope he will be walking for his 1st birthday in 4 weeks!!! its crazy to think he has been here nearly a year:DWhat's for you won't go past you0 -
I think you've done the right thing purplepatch. I wouldn't take her out in case she passes the chicken pox onto someone vunerable and really ruins their Christmas.
Hope she's not too poorly and you manage to get all your jobs done. I'm going food shopping alone tomorrow night as I can't face the crowds with three children in tow during the day! Here I go again on my own....0 -

Yeah, still here at home, bored stiff. Still, there's wrapping and ironing to be done, joy of joys :rotfl:
Will think of you when I'm shopping tomorrow night Becles. Hope they still have stuff left by then eh?!0 -
I hope so!
Can't decide if I should go to Tesco, Sainsbury's or Aldi. I know Aldi run out of stuff and only get deliveries first thing, Sainsburys are average at replenishment and Tesco is better, but Tesco is in the town centre and likely to be busier than Sainsburys which is on an industrial estate. Decisions, decisions
Husband helpfully said go to the one with the cheapest beer :rolleyes:Here I go again on my own....0 -
I had to shop when ds2 had chicken pox (abt 2 years ago). chose a quiet time and warned anyone that got too close to him.
however trying to find a quiet period now is impossible. just braved tesco's with 2 children and it was horrendous .... but chuffed its all done and dusted until at least the 27th0
