I agree with some of the other comments that you canoot do a full shop however you cany buy alot of things. I have young children who are picky eaters and they eat the Aldi baked beans, yogurts, juice, bread, biscuits, ketchup etc without a quibble.
Somethings aren't cheaper, such as Tesco value branflakes are cheaper than Aldi's branflakes but I only buy what is cheaper or a quality I prefer.
There bread is great and the sunflower seed rolls comparable with M&S. Fruit & veg are great for some things not so for others. Cooked meats, cheese, butter, yogs etc are super.
My DD is now using the nappies and they are brilliant I was previously an avid Pamper buyer. The balsam tissue are fine as is liquid soap and the face cream.
They have specials twice a week which are in seperate sections in the middle of our store and some people may be confused as to why these aren't with the other biscuits etc but it is so you know they are specials.
On the whole our shopping bill has reduced considerably, the only disappointment is not collecting as many Tesco points!0 -
If so many people are repulsed by Aldi and Lidl, simple - DON'T GO!, why do the rest of us have to know about it, it would be a weird old world if we all had the same taste and liked the same things.
I like the convenience of Aldi in that I can go and get a loaf of bread and be in and out in a couple of minutes and not have to walk for miles through a large supermarket.
I like there pasta sauce, low fat cheese and crisps, Prosciutto. There island fruit mix is £1.49 compared to £1.80 in Tesco.
FiFi :rolleyes:If you find any post helpful, please click the thanks button! :T

Yes it would be silly to avoid a supermarket due to not liking one product but I have disliked a few, I also dislike the clutter. They just don't sell things I want.
I will, however, make it a little task of mine to pop into an Aldi in the next week to have another look and see if I'm pleasantly surprised. If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -

Are you having a bad day love? I think we're all entitled to our opinions good or bad, it's called having a debate:rolleyes: These 'cheapo' shops are imo false economy, I mean think of the cost of the food(if you can call it that) and the wasted fuel to cook it and then it's so bad you just bin it immediately. I don't like them and you ain't convincing me otherwise.:cool:0 -

Not a fan either have been several times for a browse and bought a few things most were not nice, the things that were ok were no better and no cheaper than Asda/T's so not worth going. Did go through a phase once though of buying their Feta in oil jars ,nice and cheaper than Asda/T's but as I was eating a whole jar in an afternoon that had to stop.AKA: PC
