Did you keep it in the fridge?0 -
Do Aldi do branflakes? It's something I've frequently looked for but never found.
They are a yellow and blue box I think, watch it as some of the packs have sultanas in as well. I must admit I am now wondering though whether they are oat flakes, rather than bran flakes (nice though).0 -

Thanks, I think those are oat bran flakes rather than normal bran flakes - still not bad though!Stompa0 -

Do you know how much it is please? If you're going to stalk me, while you're at it can you cut the grass, feed the dog & make sure I've got bread & milk in0 -
I've found this thread quite entertaining.....
There are so many things in Aldi & Lidl that are far better quality than anything you'd find in large supermarket chain.
Electrical items at Aldi go fast as they are worth the money.
We have a Television, portable dvd player, hairdryer, ski clothing....All excellent quality.
And the geese & lobster at christmas are to die for0 -
here's a price comparison balti pie in tesco 89p aldi 69p same make and packaging. aldi is a lot cheaper than tesco and the only reason i used to go was r+r and couponing. now my local tesco has banned people from using coupons in my local store and this includes thier own from their magazine ive started like others to shop elsewhere. hence tesco must be feeling the pinch with its new cost cutting range. still too dear when aldi still beats them on price.:rotfl: given up on tesco do a lot os boots offers. but weekends are now in orange trackside b. lol
now a race marshal at silverstone.:beer:0 -
I started shopping at Aldi/Lidl a few years ago and thought they were great. I found most of the stuff from the continent to be generally better and cheaper than UK brands.
However recently I think they have put their prices up a lot and are targeting shoppers jumping ship from the supermarkets. Also the non food areas are a mess as the stuff hangs around for months rather than just the week it is advertised.
I have now gone back to shopping at the main supermarkets and find their much expanded 'value' ranges are now cheaper than Aldi and Lidl.0 -
It's revolting for me, not just because it's from Aldi but because it's pork lasagne.
I wouldn't bother going to different shops to get my weekly shopping.
no offence, but some people, well me, have to shop at different shops.
it is the only way to get everything you need, getting the best value.
if i did all my shopping in one place, i wouldn't have enough food for a week.
i'm jealous of you that you can do it all in one place.0 -

I hate the place!
The biscuits/crisps ect are very poor quality, the cleaning/ washing stuff is cheapo, the fruit and veg we do not even look at because the last lot was mouldy the next day, bread has been mouldy by the time we get home in the past so we do not look at thatat all. All the TAT in the middle just blocks up the shop, I picked up 5 things in a row with no big yellow price poster ( and I did walk round in circles in case it was missplaced), the beer and wine is not any cheaper and after all that I just wanted to get back out again (via the groups full of big/old people in anoraks that seem to use the place as a y gossip shop.
NEVER AGAIN. and yes it does smell awful.
where do you live ?
i'll have to avoid it, sounds dreadful.
sounds nothing at all like the ALDI near me.
are you sure you weren't dreaming?
:rotfl: :rotfl:
and i'd just like to point out that a small bottle of wine is much cheaper than other shops (around £1.30) so i don't know what prices you looked at.
... and i've never noticed the smell either!0 -
really amusing, thanks op.:D
i go to Aldi maybe once a month, and i pick up a handful of things - literally, as they have no baskets.
i can recommend the sliced continental cheese (my favourite emmentaler), it is about half the price of big super/m. the chocolate pudding with cream on is gorgeous, i used to have it in germany, much better than english ones.
their cereal is good, plus beans, nuts, etc.
i find it boring to shop there but it has good quality food, at very good prices.
i bought a brand name duvet there on a 'special' two years ago. it was less than half price, and i have never seen it anywhere else so reduced since.
on the negative side, they have a lot of things missing like fresh soya, or quorn/veggie products. so, i wouldn't go regularly.0
