Can I join in Please ?
My oh and I have been together 11 years  we have two beautiful dds, and we have been engaged for a year this month !
We were originally going to get married with just us and two witnesses at reg office, and all my friends kept saying nooooo you have to do something, so we decided lets do it ! Had huge fall out with my dad, mum and sister because I had decided to set a date, and have an actual wedding, all for different reasons, but I wont bore you all :rotfl: but Im trying to let it not bother me and keep myself busy with the planning.
So we decided to choose 07/08/09and I started the planning
I have so far :
book registry office
booked venue for reception
booked local gardens for photographs
booked photographer
will be booking a limo for us over the next few days, Ive got a price and style I like.
I have chosen my dress, my flowergirls dresses for dds, all online from china, will not order until maybe april next year as I am loosing weight and we know how fast children grow lol !
Have chosen a tiara for us all.
Looked at flowers and 99% sure what I want.
Ordered all card stationary to make my ownIm quite crafty, so will enjoy it
I think thats it lol !
So much more to do !Little Miss Sparkles :A

Can you add me too please? Our date is the 23rd May 2009. Decided on May as its half term week and DD is still in nursery. So it should be okay to take her out for a week if we decide to have a honeymoon.
We've been together 8.5 years and got engaged 8 years ago so I've had a rather long wait! Finally decided to 'repropose' to OH a few weeks ago and am just starting the planning ball rolling.
Off to view a couple of prospective reception venues tomorrow afternoon and sooo excited!!

Ooh, now I feel a bit disorganised (well, I am organised in my head but haven't actually booked everything I need!!)
We're getting married July 2009 after being together 6 years. I'll be 26 when I get married and he'll be 28.
So far I have (and I mean I, he's the passive sort when it comes to organisation!!)
Chosen the church
Paid the deposit on the reception (champagne & hors d'oeuvres then 4 course meal for 60, then evening party for 120). The hotel comes with 20 rooms prebooked, a wedding planner, master of ceremonies and a separate lounge bar, so it's really easy to sort which is great.
Paid deposit on photographer
Paid deposit on wedding car
Found somewhere to do men's suit hire (bit too early to pay deposit on this)
Just posted cheque with deposit for chair covers
Chosen a M&S wedding cake (will be decorated by florist)
I need..
Bride and bridesmaid's dresses
A florist (went to a wedding fair today and found someone good so hopefully will have one by tomorrow)
Evening entertainment (singer?)
Wedding favours (doing these myself)
Invites, thank you cards, table places & planner (doing these myself also)
Champagne reception entertainment (I wanted a really great cheap saxophonist but he's booked up)
Book hair
Accessories
...is it a bit early to get invites sorted & put away or shall I get 'easy' bits sorted soon? Everyone tells me time flies but I feel fairly relaxed!!0 -
congrats kittykate :j its so exciting isnt it !
you sound really organisedand your OH sounds the same as mine :rotfl:
I have the bits and bobs to make my cards, but I dont think i will do them just now, maybe wait til nearer the time.
Just go with what you feel tho huni, its up to you !
Im feeling quite relaxed as well hmmm strange !Little Miss Sparkles :A

OH. MY. GOD.
My dad has just phoned me to say that him and mum were wondering if we fancied somewhere called Pembroke Lodge.
We were basing our search on budget of max £2000 for the reception and have been looking at various pubs with function rooms in the Richmond, Kew, Chiswick area (west/south west London). We went out yesterday afternoon to look at a couple I had seen and really loved the websites of, but came home very late, tired and disappointed. None had been what I was looking for in terms of style of room. Lovely staff members, catering etc but trying not to sound too bridezillaish just weren't quite what I had pictured in my head.
Anyway, when we initially got engaged I spent a bit of time mooching for venues and saw Pembroke Lodge but immediately discounted it as being too expensive. I just cannot believe that my parents have offered to pay for this place. They are just so amazing. I feel really quite emotional!
I just thought that we're both now in our thirties (me only just!), have been together for over 8 years and have a three and a half year old. We should just have a low key wedding reception as its not like we are young things tying the knot. We're all but married, just don't have the piece of paper. But I still had that dream of being married somewhere beautiful......and now it looks like we will! I just hope they're not booked up!
Sorry, for waffling but OH is watching a boring prog on BBC that doesn't finish until 10 (ooh now!) and won't come and look at the pictures."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
Hooray, I've paid the deposit and we're getting married at the Holiday Inn, Haydock on November 13 2009, I've also paid Darren (from Avid Photography) the deposit and we're also getting £500 towards the venue from OH's parents (mine aren't on the scene)
I've also just found out I'm pregnant and due around four months before the big day, I'm pleased but shocked as I've just had a baby in May. Thank god for having three sisters there on the day. My lovely sister has offered to pay for the flowers, the venue is a snip at £1500, including dj and food for 120 in the evening. So just have to find £2500 - £3000 for everything else but have over budgeted for some things I'm going to try and get cheap, like tiaras and I've seen a lovely pair of shoes in New Look for £15. We're doing the table decs ourselves and that should be less than £30, for 15 tables, also will be printing the invitations myself and my bil will be doing the calligraphy. My cake will be about £145 and will be going to an outlet village for grooms suits. Attendants will be hire and bargain of all bargains the bridesmaids dresses were £12.50 brand new from Debenhams. Also Monsoon boleros were £2.50 each so bridesmaids dresses were under £20 each, everything is coming together really well and I'm so pleased I just had to tell someone.
Could my day be updated, as the date has changed. Thanks for reading and good luck to everyone else getting married!!!!:A :
