I know this thread is for excited brides, but can a terrified one join in too? I'm getting hitched on March 6th 2009.
Got the venue, registrar and photographer booked. The rings are ordered and have been measured for a dress.:T
Still to do: lose weight, figure out how I am going to look something other than my usual scruffy self, figure out who to invite without offending anyone, find enough confidence to get through all of this without losing my marbles (or losing the plot and taking the cake hostage).“Money is not the most important thing in the world. Love is. Fortunately, I love money.”0 -
I had the weirdest dream last night that it was my wedding day and i couldnt find the skirt from my dress!!! I cried my eyes out and woke up before i could find it
I havent even chose a dress!!! I think i'll go for a full dress instead of separates! lol

Please can you add me as well. Its Friday 14th August 2009.
I've so far got the venue booked, chocolate fountain deposit paid (not very moneysaving but my OH loves them!) and we're meeting our photographer tonight to talk about what we want. Oh and we've got the registrar booked.
But I haven't even started looking at dresses as my mum lives too far away and I keep putting off going on my own! Also no disco, florist or hairdresser yet. Thinking I'm going to get an M&S cake and decorate it with fresh flowers myself as I refuse to pay hundreds for a cake.
Does anyone have any Gloucester suppliers they can recommend for the things I'm missing? Or dress shops in Wiltshire/ Bath area?0 -
Can you add me please?

Hi
Can you add me please. All booked up for 19th September 2009 12.30pm can't wait. :j
It's been booked for ages and seemed like miles away and before I know it, it's less than a year away so I'm frantically booking photographers, cars etc and looking at ways to save on the other things like invitations, favours, cake, suits/bridesmaid dresses etc etc as the venue is costing more than we can really afford. We are getting married in a church but having the wedding breakfast/reception/evening at a lovely hotel on the beach so the photo's should be good (depending on the weather of course!!!). The wedding breakfast is being held in a suite that overlooks the mouth of the River Tyne which is pretty cool as the doors open out onto an outdoor area with great views. The larger suite for the evening overlooks the beach. In relation to what I've heard friends are spending on their weddings at stately homes etc mine is only a quarter of the cost but for my limited budget it's still a lot as I'm sure most of you can relate to. I want the best and most special day possible but I'm finding this virtually impossible money wise!!!!
I was at a friends wedding in August who had done her own flowers - I think they were foam and they looked fantastic so I'm looking at doing that and also doing my own invitations/favours etc etc. I also saw a post that M & Spencers do wedding cakes so I had a look the other day and they look fantastic for the money. Either pre decorated or plain to decorate yourself they were ranging from £75 for a 3 tiered plain iced cake to £199 for a fully decorated one and they deliver to your nearest store. You have to order 7-21 days beforehand but compared to what I was getting quoted this is amazing and you can always pretty much guarantee the quality from there. I'd be interested to hear anyones feedback on them if they have an experience of their cakes.
Looking forward to seeing everyones tips and ideas on here!0 -
