can you add me to the list 14th April 2009
  • All my bridesmaids have now tried on their dresses and like them, so I am very very relieved as this has been one of my main stresses over the last month or so.

Now I just have to hope that none of them gain any significant weight over the next 8 months!
  • Hi everyone.....

We had thought about holding the reception in BIL's back garden but the numbers keep going up so we're going to have to find a venue ASAP!! I'm stressing as it's in only 7 months *eep!!* and am worried there won't be many if any places within our budget left. We're in Ipswich, and ideally want it somewhere here, or failing that, in a village hall close by. We're on a very low budget - does anyone have any ideas?!?! (wish they had a "pulling out hair" pic!!)

On a happier note, I've found my PERFECT dress and have contacted Landy about it - am hoping she'll reply quickly so I can send her the pic and get a quote then get the ball rolling! Anyone else had her make one from a different design they've seen elsewhere??

    Thanks :)

Hi everyone. Not been on here for a while, still frequently have my head buried in the sand when it comes to thinking of the wedding! But the plans have moved on a little so I thought I'd pop in with a little update.

I've ordered my dress!!! Soooo excited about that :D I'd narrowed my choice down to 2 and Mum came down top visit a couple of weeks ago (she lives 250 miles away) so we went out to look at them together. She liked both, thank God, and I have gone ahead and ordered one :j

Also got a dress for my 12 year old bridesmaid. Was having a bit of a dilemma over her as everything I'd seen in the colour I want (red) seemed too grown up (and too expensive). But I stumbled across an absolutely perfect dress in BHS for £45, so I have snapped that up. Bought age 14 as she'll be a month or so off her 13th birthday and I figure we can get it taken in a little without a problem.

OH's step-brother had his reception at the same place we are using a couple of weeks ago, and it went really well so we are pleased with our choice. Only slight problem was that people who chose the vegetarian option on the menu (fixed, so we'll be having the same) thought it was really bland - pasta with mushrooms and a bit of grated parmesan, but no sauce. So I'm going to have a word with the owner of the hotel to see if we can get that changed to something a bit tastier.

Off to see a singer in a couple of weeks, who we might book for the big day.

Our wedding ceremony is taking place about 10 miles from the hotel where we are having the reception, but I will be getting ready at the hotel. I'm thinking of hiring a limo to get me, my folks and 2 bridesmaids up the the ceremony venue all together, as hiring 2 cars just so my Dad and I can arrive separately seems like an unnecessary expense.

I've decided what table decorations I'm going to have and also pretty much settled on what flowers I want too.

Now that I've written it down, I've actually done quite a lot over the past few weeks. Ooo, it's all moving on now!

Good luck to everyone else, hope everythings coming along the way you want it to :)

    Hello all.
    Can I join in too?
    I get married on 21st March 2009.
I've got quite a bit sorted out. currently awaiting the arrival of my dress with some trepidation as I've got it from milly bridal, and I think I've driven them a little crazy in the process! Big things I have left to organise are shoes and cake. Might not seem so big but I need a chocolate cake to serve 150 and a pair of size 9 wedding shoes that don't cost £80, so quite big things I suppose however you look at it!

  • We're going to look at a venue for the reception tomorrow - it's a village hall with a very big kitchen and large capacity - fingers crossed that we love it because it's very reasonable in price too!!

Also.......I've ordered my dress!!!! :D:D:D It's one I fell in love with at first sight through a shop window - took a quick pic on mobile, uploaded it and went into talks with Landy - she can make it, for........£75!!!! I'm so so so happy it's PERFECT and I'm confident she'll do an amazing job thanks to all the praise I've heard about her on here :) Ooooo I'm so excited I can't wait to get it!! :D Patience.....

Well, me and my mum are off to a wedding dress sale in Croydon tomorrow morning!! My first time actually trying dresses on! I don't expect to buy any but am going just in case there is an amazing bargain and mainly to try some different styles on so I can order from Milly or Landy.

But hey, you never know, I might end up posting a picture tomorrow evening if I find the one and its affordable!

Ooops, OH's logon!! Its Alleycat in disguise!

Aww Kylie. Don't be sad- you might get on better on your own. I would offer to come with you if I was anywhere near to you...are there any girls on here that are close to the M25?
