*Brides To Be Club 2009 & Onward* The New Updated Thread

Hi, Can I be added to the list please :T
I'm getting married on the 5th of September 2009 (My parteners 40th birthday)
We are getting married at 3pm, we are also hoping to have a family ceremony if I can get my eldest 2 daughters surnames changed, our solictor is very positive about our chances but unfortunatly it all rests on the judge, fingers crossed we will not get an old fuddy duddy who believes children should have their fathers name even if he has no contact and couldn't care less about them.
We are not having a sit down meal, just an evening do in the local rugby club. We are also hiring a local lady who will supply wall hanging and table cloths to make it look a bit more special. We have found fantastic caters (as recomended by the rugby club) who are doing us a bar-b-que - hotdogs, beefburgers, chicken portions, potato wedges, salad, gateaus and a chocolate fountain with strawberries etc for £5 a head. I've also booked the disco.
I've bought myself an outfit but i'm begining to worry it's not bridal enough, so i'm looking at ordering one from landy.
I'm soo glad i've found this forum and threads!

Hi Natalie and congratulations!!

Well, we gave notice this morning and should be able to collect our certificates on the 28th November. We will then be able to make an appointment to see the registrar in Richmond.

We thought we would send out invitations pretty soon too (we've got 7 months to go) with RSVP cards but not send out the menu, hotel and travel details once people have RSVP'ed.

Do people think this will be okay?

I would leave about 3-4 months before you send out invites. Congrats on giving notice. We did ours in August and only managed to go pick them up few weeks ago.

As we're getting married in June, we felt that we would prefer to send them out earlier as then people won't necessarily have booked holidays at this point and rae more likely to be able to make it.
