I went to a wedding recently where the colour scheme was black and white, I couldn't really picture it beforehand but it looked absolutely stunning.

Black and white is an idea, a friend mentioned that confetti have a black and white display up at the moment, might try and get in to see it - thanks for the suggestion
Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:

    Me too!!!

Likely to be summer 2010 or 2011 but not sure yet. Depends on finances.

We're going to Las Vegas, then will tell everyone on our return. I hate the idea of a white wedding, and all the stress and planning that goes with it. Sorry girls, but reading all your posts about bridesmaid dresses, favours, venues, etc. etc. brings me out in a cold sweat!

I've also decided that the white dress isn't for me. I've had a look around the internet, and there's nothing I like. But what I do like is the proper vintage, 1950s prom dress with MASSIVE skirts. So that is what I'm going for - preferably in scarlet!

God your so much like me!!! We are getting married in Cyprus in September....only us and family. I too hate the idea of a big fancy wedding to be honest i couldn't cope with the stress of organising everything i would just be a stressed out wreck :rotfl:Las Vegas sounds really cool, at least with it just being you and other half you can everything how you want it as well, without other people interfering!! x

  • Hello all,

    OH proposed last night :T

Call us crazy but we're not ones to hang around, we did the rounds last night to let family know and when they asked if we'd set a date we said probably 2010.
BUT....after chatting a bit today we have decided that we may go for October 2009 instead!!!
We dont want a massive Do that will cost a fortune, we want to do it our own way with all our family and friends:j

I dont think its quite sunk in yet....
    I'll admit that I am a massive spreadsheet geek:rotfl:

  • Hiya B2B's,

Not been around for a while as have been super busy, but just wanted to share with you that I have bought my dress!:j

    http://www.alfredangelounitedkingdom.com/Collections/ProductDisplay.aspx?productID=9e8d40ad-1e83-443e-be5f-44a4ffa7178b&categoryID=0fb8d3ca-5030-43bb-9e1b-90ffb001ae14&pg=1

I tryed it on in a Pronuptua, and loved it but the price tag was just tooo much! I did think about contact Landy Bridal, but was a little concerened about all of the embroidery. But, as if it was fate, I was browsing EBay and found it on there! It's been worn once, but saving just over £1000 makes it ok lol! Its beautiful and fits perfectly, just needs the length taking up slightly and a dry clean (a few marks on the underside of the train). So I've just swopped some tesco deal vouchers to cover the cost of that!

I'm so excited now...not sure I can wait 11 months to wear it!:p

Hope everyone else's plans are going well

    Love Hunny x x x

    Hey

hunnybunny12 great news on your dress. Thats how i got mine and i know what you mean about waiting! and ive got 12 months to go lol. I found by having the dress at my parents and putting it into a dress storage box 3 months ago i am not tempted to try it on but i am counting down the days till it has to be taken out and aired so i can see it again!

Our wedding plans are going really well. Have booked with the registar for 5th Jan to give notice etc. We have selected our wedding rings and ordered they should hopefully be ready jan/feb.

Our venue has changed its chef but that means the menus have changed and we are waiting for them to be sent out which we are both hoping haven't changed too much.

I have found my hairdresser for the day great price and just at the end of my road, never been there before but went in the other day for prices and was amazed how nice they were. The prices were great so i booked in for a hair cut to see how good they are and was very pleased with the service. Cannot book them till April as they dont have the dairy pages yet.

It just feels so weird now that at 12 months and 10 days(not that im counting!:o ) that i have to now follow a wedding time table because up to this point i have been doing things as and when i have felt like it but now i feel like its so much closer and more "real" god knows how i am going to feel 2/3 months before.

Sorry every time i give an update i end up rambling on for soo long.

    Hi all,

My OH proposed last weekend :D So, I'd like to join in please. No idea when yet, decided to find venue first and see when they can fit us in.

Is it wrong to be looking at wedding magazines at websites so soon? ;)
    Nobody I'd rather be ;)
