Hi - thanks
We're planning for summer 2010 - but who knows!!!
Will update with proper date as soon as I know itNobody I'd rather be0 -
hey guys - have been a lurker for a while and can now finally join!! yay
OH proposed this weekend in Bruges - at the top of the bell tower in the market square, at sunset - very romantic!!!
we have already decided where we want to get married and roughly when. March 2010 is looking about right. we are getting married on Palm Island in the Grenadines. its not very money saving I know but we have worked out it will cost us about 8k in all - for the whole ceremony and honeymoon so cheaper than most weddings! its just going to be the 2 of us though - no family or friends - which is how we want it.
will post more when we know!!
yay again!!:D

Oh I am so excited - my dress (ordered from Landy, made to measure and from a pic of the one I fell in love with) has been made and is on it's way to me!!!
I can't believe it!!! hopefully by next week I'll have it - I've checked the EMS website and tracked it, it was posted on the 6th, arrived and left a sorting office somewhere (can't remember where!) and on the 8th it had arrived at a sorting office in Shanghai and left it too!! I cannot express how excited I am, but I'm sure all you other Bride to Be's have had/are feeling this excitement over your dress! Funny though, last night I dreamt that it arrived, had been customised by them (!!) and was in BLACK not ivory *eeep* I j=know it'll be fine but I woke up in a cold sweat and momentarily thought it was true :rotfl: I'm just hoping it'll get to me ok.....you know what the post is like this time of year!
Anyway, I hope everyone's planning is going well - I need to get on the net this weekend as I'm working late shifts until xmas so I'm missing out on MSE and all the updates!
Thanks for reading0 -
Hi all - my partner and I got engaged two weeks ago, and we're aiming for a February 2009 wedding (yes, two months away, but the end of February!). We'd wait a while, but I'm adamant that we're going to do it while my belly still fits in my dress.
It'll be simple enough, my dress is ordered and being made, invitations can be bought when we have the appropriate paperwork to bring my beloved into the country for the registrar appointment and such. I'm attempting to book a venue as I type, we'll sort out rings with minimal fuss from a local goldsmith, we shouldn't need cars, the venue I want has an arrangement with a hotel next door, we're not going for dinner and dancing .... it's informal enough that it should be fine.
So far as I see it we need:
witnesses (with 60 guests someone'll do it)
a licence (working on it)
a registrar (ditto)
a dress (on its way)
invitations (not yet)
a venue (working on it)
flowers (pfft)
a post-wedding buffet (hopefully organisable with the venue)
a cake (argh)
rings (we'll get to that soon)
suit hire (need to be in the UK, will send him with my dad)
something for my mother to wear (going to be difficult)
I don't think there's anything else.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

Hi! Fiance and I got engaged on 22nd November 2008 and are planning our wedding for either 3rd or 10th October 2009! We've been lucky because October is a less popular time for weddings so we've managed to get the Church and wedding reception we had as our first choice! Sooooo excited now after having picked out an Xmas card for him - had to remind myself he's a fiance now not a boyfriend!:D0

Hello!!!
I am back on the forums! Woop woop!
H2B and I got engaged in OCtober 2007, we just managed to have our engagement party last week and we lately decided to get married on Sunday 30th August (yes the one before the bank holiday).
So far we have provisionnally picked our venues for both the civil ceremonay and the reception.
The main problem for us is to figure out decorations as we cannot afford flowers, see.
Any idea where I could post the venue's pictures and get some advice on how to decorate them?"Don't cry, Don't Raise your Eye
