Hi all, can I join? OHs been bugging me about setting a date for a couple of months so I said what about his birthday which is when we met last year, but it's a Sunday this year so we settled on Friday which just happens to be 07/08/09 . Might not be around much but reading the posts with interest already...

I've been watching this thread for a long time...and have finally decided to join, if it's OK with all of you? As me and OH are going to get married in May 2010...

Seems a long way off but some how i have a feeling its going to come along very very quickly. Not a lot planned so far, but I am going to try and save as much money as possible. I have already decided to make my own invites and orders of service :j .

Evening entertainment for the second night is booked.We are having a scottish 2 piece so basically a miniature ceiligh(always spell that wrong and differently each time).£150 for 4 hours,a bargain!

We are marrying in Barbados on 07-08-09 and our blessing and reception is 22-08-09.

Dress is from Ebay China shop - £120
10 nights in barbados including wedding package, photography and hairdresser is £4k
Reception venue with buffet and wine for 80 guests, choc fountain, honeymoon suite and DJ is £520
Cake is 2 tier handmade haggled from quote of £200 to £150 cash upfront

Still to get: veil, suits, tiara, shoes, flowers, decorations and centrepieces xxx

Hi all, well it's only 8 months ( near enough) till the big day and to be honest i'm completely unorganised!! Still waiting for Thomas cook's wedding team to confirm the date (we're getting married in Cyprus!) they're taking their time to say the least only heard from them once since we booked it and kind of need to know for people to book time off work, book flights etc. I still need to lose weight for the day but just can't find the motivation to diet...ah well i suppose i'll start soon! still need to find a dress and get bridesmaids dresses and need to sort flowers as well...was thinking of artifical tho, thought they would b easier to take with me to cyprus...is anyone else getting artificial ones? some of them look really nice! Anyhow sorry to go on lol, hope everyone's plans are going well xx
