  • Congratulations to all the christmas engagements! Hope you are having fun celebrating.

Well, we have 5 and a bit months to go, yikes! Got my littlest bridesmaids dress in the sale in Monsoon today, and we've been booking our honeymoon in Cornwall. Now we're on to designing invites.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!
  • Hello and congratulations to everyone

I'd love to join you all too...my wonderful boyfriend proposed to me on holiday in Switzerland on 24th November (at the onion festival !)
We arrived back though with coughs and colds which then turned into proper"man-flu" for both of us...(obviously his "strain" was far worse than mine ;) )
so what with that and Christmas we haven't even started to talk about the wedding !!!
So we are hoping to start sitting down and talking about it all in the New Year....but I am thinking it won't be until 2010...so would you add me to the list for general 2010...I'll let you know when we agree on a date...it may take some time as he is one of these annoying blokes who actually has an opinion  so it may take a while for us to come to a compromise on some things :D
  • Hi All
Well after much messing about with new isp:mad: , finally can get back to my beloved mse site.:j
Wedding is in 268 days :j :j :j :j we have sent the save the day cards, DD1s bessy mates fiance made them he is also doing the invites and thankyou notes free of charge, he is a screen printer so is a professional and is trying out things for his own wedding stuff.
Have booked the florist, just got to pick the flowers and styles, still struggling with that one, got 2 older bridesmaids DD1 23 & DD2 22 maid of honour best mate 37, 2 little bridesmaids cousin 8 & granddaughter 1 so need to think of the little ones carrying or not carrying:confused: any ideas greatly recieved :D
Cake big sis making, cant decide on style, so many to choose from, all I know is we want 3 tiers and on floating shelves in circular shape.
bridesmaids dresses brought just got to be fitted, trying to find a little shop that wud alter them cheaper than the bridal shop, as they ddint tell me till Id already paid for them that alterations are not in the price  still need to get the little ones thiers but will get them from retail shop, maybe BHS or Debenhams, they gonna have ivory with a teal green sash, that way they will try in with the other girls & my dresses.
My dess is paid for, had it stored at my sis's for over a year now, got it in a bridal sale, shud have cost me £1,350 I got it for £250 from a smaller out of town shop, the cost of alterations are included too, which is good as I have lost my target of 2 stone, so the dress will defo need taking in :j :T
Mens suits still need to be sorted, wil be onto that on H2Bs next day off.
Reception Venue sortof booked, have been pencilied in and they gopt my menu list, waiting for them to give us a price. Cars & photos are in a package so cheaper & midweek gets the price down bit more. We got a budget of £6,000.00 so far we well under budget.
H2B is sorting out the honeymoon, well Ive gave him a short list he can pick from, coz I dont do well flying, so dont want to go to far on plane, wud prefer a holiday in uk, but Id have to know where we goin as he dont drive lol
Think Ive got everything kinda sorted, have I missed out anything:confused:

Huge congrats to all the christmas engaged couples, its well exciting aint it.

    xxxxxxxx

We're going to Las Vegas, then will tell everyone on our return. I hate the idea of a white wedding, and all the stress and planning that goes with it. Sorry girls, but reading all your posts about bridesmaid dresses, favours, venues, etc. etc. brings me out in a cold sweat!

    Well said!

This is 2nd time around for both of us and we have decided to go away and get married without inviting a soul. We are taking my DD13 who is very excited at being bridesmaid, best man etc. We have budgeted approx £4500.00 to include wedding ceremony, outfits, rings and 2 week honeymoon with spending money for 3.

We have booked a cruise wedding and have bought the rings already. The next task is a suitable dress.

  • My plans have been thrown slightly off track with the news that my sister is pregnant and she will be around 7/8 months gone by the time the wedding comes round... She was a bridesmaid, and I still want her to be, but getting her a new dress (already bought one and can't return) that matches the others is going to be a pain!

184 days to go though, need to start making headway on the smaller details like colour schemes for reception, flowers etc

Have made yet another list of things to get sorted for the big day, now Ive got lists full of lists, Im goin list crazy, lol OH says everyday he comes home from work Ive got another one for him to look out, as I said to him youd be amazed at how many things we still got to sort.
Im looking at getting the little bridesmaid dresses from the high street, also doin them headbands with fake buds in coordinating colours, wish I knew how much they gonna grow between now and then, the youngest is 7months today, so she will grow quite a bit, but hoping the 8 yr old dont grow too much, althro she is quite tall and very slender, so can see problems there. lol
so gonna just go and check my lists to see if Ive forgot anything lol.

List updated to add you Louise. You have two wedding date twins KittyKate and Hannahjex.
  • Now that christmas is over with and all the family have left I have time to get back to wedding planning. Now that the wedding is THIS YEAR I am panicking that I have too much left to organise.
I thought I had the dream dress but it doesnt feel right on.I think I will have to find something else.I cant finalise much else until I have the dress decided finally. The search continues.
