We're getting married in Liverpool :-)

Would like a bit of a Latin theme for the reception as OH is from latin america - so a bit of salsa, bright colours and mojitos all round! But not sure of how to find a caterer who has experience cooking central american food so I don't know if we'll have to abandon that aspect.

I was thinking we could have a big group salsa class before the disco - get everyone up and dancing and learn a few moves for when the latin music comes on. I've been wondering if Latin and cheesy tunes will mesh together for the party or whether it would be better sticking to one or the other. Heh, thinking all this and we don't even have a reception venue yet, lol...

I would start with your local restaurants and there may do outside catering - that what they tend to do on that for better or for worse show on the wedding channel

  • Visited the dress shop today, yesterday actually as its after 1am now!
Saw the dress I chose online and it is fab.Have chosen my fabric,a gorgeous deep plummy purple satin called victorian amethyst.8 weeks left to diet before my final measurements get taken for the dress order.
Got fabric sample in post sat morning for nieces dress too and its lovely so will measure her up and order her dress and bolero from styleshake online.
Visiting the venue next weekend to take measurement for decorations.
    Ordering cake next weekend too.
Found a fab amethyst/plum/silver jewelled trim to use for loads or wedding bits, invites, napkin rings, hair accessories, trim on bolero etc.Its expensive but will be worth it.

Sounds amazing! We wanted to do something similar which is why we have chosen Lucy4, it has a mediterranean themed menu, and we're going to make up a playlist with people like Ojos de Brujo and Juan Martin on :D

  • Just about everything done now.Concentrating on the final details.
Looking for these things today but as its glorious outside I may ditch the wedding planning and enjoy the sun instead-
1/photos and video guides to doing side buns but not just plain ones,I fancy doing my hair in a messy side bun with wispy bits hanging down
2/plain barrette clips for the girls to stick the jewelled trim to
3/vintage glass cake stands for my 3 cakes.

We're getting there: finished bunting, most drink bought, met with celebrant again, sent photographers brief off, doing programmes this afternoon, got gifts for attendants, make up for me...

    Can't believe it's nearly here.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

Mmm, we're in a bit of a lull at the moment. Got all the big things sorted and don't need to do other things 'til later.

Going to see the 'cake lady' on Saturday. Unsuprisingly, this is one thing OH has actually been interested in

Also had a call last Friday though to say my dress had arrived at the shop :T Unfortunately have to wait 'til Sunday to go and try it on :( I've sort of forgotten what I looked like in it and, of course, in the photo on the website the model is a tad taller and skinnier than me!

Not looking forward to the next couple of months on the money front - the balances for the ceremony venue, registrar and photographer all need to be paid. Fortunately, we've managed to save up almost all we need for the wedding budget. Just one more pay day to go and we'll have it all covered.
