  • My main task with 6 months to go is stick to me diet and order my outfit in my new smaller size.
Meeting our celebrant this month for the first time to start talking about the ceremony.
Just found out this week that my niece is coming to the wedding so will be looking for an outfit for her too.
    Thats about it.

    Hi Lilian,
We're not having an evening reception either!
We're getting married at 11am at our local register office, then walking through the market place (!!!) to our favourite restaurant where they've agreed to let us have sole occupancy for us and our 50 guests for the whole afternoon. (11.45-5.30pm) Its an independant fab boutique type place - fabulous food and with a lovely garden terrace out back.

    Hels xx

are you getting Married in Hexham by any chance? If so you are lucky - Hexham regsitery office is gorgeous :T

Thanks Raphael. Starting to feel stressed now, had my first tears this morning! I don't want loads of people there, I don't want the big white traditional wedding where all eyes are on me, but it's so hard to find any websites that just take you through the process of a simple wedding. Any tips?

Stick with us here and steer clear of the big scary bridal websites! I love offbeatbride.com as it showcases lots of non-traditional weddings, most of them are American thought but I still like reading it, especially when people look strangely at us when we say no speeches/giving away/OH has seen my dress etc.

Just remember that there are very few things you 'need' to do for a wedding, paperwork, ceremony and witnesses are basically it. Try looking at that as your starting point and then building up to include the things that you want, if you don't want a receiving line, speeches etc don't have them. If people think that's strange that's their problem and they are free to do what they like on their wedding days.
Got married 23rd May 2009, many thanks to all on the Weddings and Anniversaries board for their help and support!

    Thanks so much MsChazzer.

It's the setting a date/confirming the venue thing I'm having trouble with at the moment, I think once that bit is done everything else will be fine! x

I am in love with it! Although i hate sleeves on wedding dresses (well on me anyway) but i do love this dress, my thoughts are if i get it and i don't like them i could always cut them off :rotfl:
My mother loves it though which is good because she is forever telling me her honest opinion, even if it differs to mine. I realllllllly wanna show my OH but he'd kill me lol.

I love the little sleeves on that dress, just what I am after in the sleeve department :)
