Could I be added to the list, pretty please?
We're getting married on 4th April - in 17 days!!!!!!! EEEEEKKK!!!!!!!!
Everything is pretty much sorted but we've just had our first hiccup! OH took some time off work to come with me to meet our photographer at the wedding venue and the bloke didn't turn up! He thought it was tomorrow! Gulp!
Cue lots of gentle ribbing from the staff about hoping he manages to remember to come to the wedding. OH and I were not terribly amused! LOL

Haha i hope you like it when you get there and even better that its the cheapest.
Got a brochre for the hotel that me and h2b both really liked and in the terms & conditions it said that we had to pay for buffet for everyone that was attending in the evening witch was stupid as not not everyone would eat then it went on to say that due to health and saftey none of the food that we would have paid for could be removed from the hotel it had to be drestroyed at the end of the night but the best bit was if they cut your cake up for you that couldnt be removed either what was left had to be destroyed so now were looking for other places
I am still so undecided on what i want dont no if to just have it all in one place or get married in church. All the nice venues are quite a distance from the church i want to get married in if we decide to go for a church so have to think about transport aswell.
Oh decisions descisions haha0 -
we're having ours all under one roof, i wanted a manor house but we're having a country house (if i like it).
Thats silly, one of the venues i liked said we could only have buffet food out for 2 hrs due to health and safety.. i suppose its a bonus i only have to pay for 70% of the guests though.
The venue is about 30mins away from where we live so its localish although i'm a worrier and i want to be there the morning of the wedding to make sure everything is set up properly, if i'm worrying now i dread to think what i'll be like in 2yrs time!0 -
haha it seems so far away 2011 dosnt it
Ave you set the date yet?
We was thinkin about valentines day as we got engaged on it but will be a monday in 2011 so am thinking may as weather seems to be good in may now0 -
wellllll... i have just come back from the venue, didn't fall in love with it.. however i fell in love with the bridal suiteS (one freestanding bath, one jacuzzi!) and the ceremony room... GORGEOUS!
The only thing i didn't like was the floor in the function room, sad i know but i just didn't like it.. i am still considering it though and am off to see another venue next wednesday.
We're hoping for May 14th 2011, it has to be a saturday or a sunday though due to a lot of our friends working during the week and family travelling etc...
We got engaged valentines day but i didn't even consider winter months lol i'm bad with coldness!0 -
My partner & I have provisionaly booked our civil partnership for 3rd April next year, to confirm next month as we're only allowed to do the legal bit with the booking of the registrar 12 months in advance. We chose Easter saturday as we thought it would be easier for everyone to travel - I guess about 80% of our guests don't live near us! Thanks to Starla on these boards we found a fab venue that we both love & will let us alter the packages to suit us and add some personal touches. They have lodges that you can book to stay in, so us & some of our closest friends are going to make a whole weekend of it! We've made some of the decisions: we're having a cake made of cheese! (google cheese wedding cake & you'll see what I mean) with an undecorated fruit cake to serve alongside, my partner's mum is making the fruit cake, we love the idea of felt flowers - another idea from these boards, sorry though, I can't remember who to thank! We're both into crafts so are making these ourselves & have started already! We can't decide if we want a prof photographer or not, we're having a buffet partly because it's cheaper, partly because we don't have the stress of a seating plan! My partner is making centre pieces for the tables out of stained glass (her hobby) she did the 1st one yesterday & it looks fantastic, we thought about giving them to our witnesses and mothers as a thank you present, more personal & long lasting than flowers. I was thinking about designing a nice save the day card/poster on publisher & e-mailing it out to save money, family & close friends will know already, it was just more long distance friends - is that a real no no? So that's as far as we've got. I love Reading these posts & learning from other people planning their day, so thank you to all previous posters for ideas & money saving tips x"Normal is not something to aspire to - it is something to get away from" - Jodie Foster0
