have just finished making the invitations so once I've sent them at the weekend I can relax for a few months before the stress of organising the final details
OMG....you're getting married on Sept 5th and sending invites out already??? YIKES...thats our date too and I'm nowhere near as organised as that!! (I thought you were meant to send them out 3 months in advance?? oh no, have i had duff info??)

mshelsbels some people like to send their invites out early so they can definately finalise the numbers, i shall probably send mine out this far in advance too (just because i'll panic about numbers) but its up to you.
3 months in advance and people can't make it? will you have enough time to invite other people?0 -
Ours will be all away by the end of the month. We've nearly finished writing the ceremony ones and will be ordering the wedding dance ones next weekend when I get paid again

We're getting married on 5th September too and are hoping to send out the invitations by the end of the month but this is for particular reasons.
We have some friends who will (hopefully) be coming from overseas and we wanted to make sure that they had enough time to organise eveything (and save up!).
Also, we have chosen to have our wedding in a different area from where we live and where our friends and family live so almost everyone will need to stay in a hotel overnight. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but there is a conference on in the area that weekend and a lot of the rooms are getting booked up, especially the cheaper ones.
I wouldn't worry. Two to three months seems to be the norm.0 -
Thanks for adding me to the list aimee21j!0

I'm not panicking as much now after reading your responses. Also, HTB and I sent save the day cards out in January so at least people are aware we're getting married!
My sister is currently in the states buying my invites - so I'm so vey excited about that! They're a kit to print yourself - and are dead reasonable.(Saw them on the Brides website and theyre FAB!) here's a pic!
Also, I dont know if its just me, but is anyone at the stage where you've done LOADS of research, trawling the net/mags but are a bit scared to take the plunge and make decisions or buy? I know my dress, but haven't ordered it from Landy yet. Have chosen suits, but no-ones been fitted. I know exactly what I'd like in the way of favours, but not bought them.....why am I being such a numpty? I'm starting to feel a bit overwhelmed with all thats on offer - anyone elses head in a spin?

don't worry!
I'm the opposite lol, i've got my place cards & invites and i am awaiting my bags for favours and i have 2 years! lol.
But i know what i want and i want to get my things whilst i have some money so i'll buy monthly.
Take the plunge! It'll be fun!0 -
It's like jumping into a cold swimming pool, you know you want to, you've dipped the toe in, but you cant bring yourself to jump in....
I'm the same hels.... thats why I like it when OH just does stuff off his own bat. He went and booked a DJ over the weekend without telling me. So that's something else I dont have to think about. Just do a bit at a time.DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!
