Can I join?
My lovely now fiance (whoop!) proposed to me at Gleneagles on Friday night! I'm SO happy!
Wedding to be Autumn 2010! Can't wait to start the planning now!

How is everybody's planning going?? Anybody got any really good deals to share?

Oooo I'm going to be having a go at making our cake topper! Using Sculpey, the stuff arrived today (but they've sent 2 of 1 colour instead of one of that and one of another, which is missing, and they're out of black atm so am waiting on that....i want to start already!!!) I was inspired to give it ago after someone posted their pics on a thread here

I'm really getting back into planning now after a huge slump....I think it's the fact time's really ticking now :O

We got married!

The ceremony was at Speke Hall and was beautiful, and wonderful, and we loved it. The reception we held at a hotel in the centre of Liverpool and it was pretty dreadful, sadly - they dropped our cake and "repaired" the damage by covering it in fruit salad and not even smoothing out the enormous gouge down the side of it or changing the tablecloth with stained evidence of the collision, they charged our guests for drinks after we specified that we'd be running a tab and failed to put the wine and water we'd asked for on the tables, they served all food at room temperature, including things that were supposed to be hot and mayo-based salads, one staff member asked me if I was ready to have the cake served half an hour after we'd asked them to do it, and when I said so she responded that she would have done, but as she was about to start, the toasts started, so she stopped to listen! She then bullied a diabetic into taking a piece of cake and then started hitting on him ...... the list goes on.

Still, we're married and most of it was fantastic.

Mine's 2 weeks on Saturday. It's getting to the expensive bit now everyone wants paying!

I'm so sorry to hear about your reception I was reading about it on another thread. I hope you get an apology and more out of them. At least you're married and the ceremony was everything you hoped it would be.
