Thank you all who replied. I am more unsure than ever now so need to give it a lot of thought.

I am not well enough to go to the supermarket anymore so rely on others getting things on a list. It is okay but I feel like I am taking advantage. I do miss going to the shop myself but when I do have a lift there I have to dash around as I don't know the layout anymore and the person giving me the lift is finished in half an hour.

I really will have to give it more thought. I thought the delivery charge was much higher than you say so that would be a plus :undecided

If you can't get to the supermarket easily, then I'd say it was a bit of a no-brainer! The times when I've done it regularly have always been when I've been incapacitated in some way: sprained ankle, unfit to drive etc. I'd start by using your 'favourite' supermarket's online service and see what you think of it. Especially if you can have deliveries at the unpopular times, it can be very cheap.

It will take a bit of time to begin with. It's worth writing your list out before you start rather than attempting to 'scan' the whole shop for what you want ...

I don't know if anyone can help: DGS2 has had to have a few baby teeth removed, apparently the decay was due to prolonged breast feeding at night, (till he was about 18 months which doesn't seem that extreme, but hey!). DD is trying to cut out sugar completely if she can so that the rest of his teeth last until they fall out naturally, and I wondered if anyone has any ideas for nice things for little boys that don't contain sugar.
    Thanks

I got one of them jars of heinz beans that keeps the beans fresh for 5 days, and I was wondering if anyone knows if they're special beans?
I mean, could I refill it with normal beans that come in a tin, or are the heinz beans made out of something special to make them last 5 days?
At the back of the jar it says not to refill with food, which makes me think that the jar will only accept heinz magical beans or something haha. It seems weird for them to write on the jar not to refill it. *confused*

I think the only way to know is to compare the ingredients list. It's possible they have put some sort of preservative in? Personally in my fridge beans keep for 4-5 days, magic container or not. The "magic" ones are so much more expensive per 100g!!!!!!

Of course it could just be heinz wanting people to keep rebuying the more expensive "magic" ;) beans :D

When beans have gone off they look rancid anyway so you would soon know :)

  • Hello, Any idea how to home make butter milk please? I use a lot of Ozzie baking books and they seem to love the stuff. I've been using Greek yoghurt instead. Thank you....
