But mto said it was in the fridge, not the freezer?

I think I'd be tempted to ditch it after 6 months in the fridge, although the sniff test would probably be performed first, and also a visual inspection for blue bits! :rotfl:

I think I've got some which I bought cheap and chiled, and then froze, probably a couple of years old, next time I have a good clearout I'm either going to use it lose it! :rotfl:

I have a George Forman grill and it needs a clean, hubbie says get a new one- had it 4-5 years. Would rather try and clean it first.

Have been using the spatula it came with and removing bits when its warm but still got a layer of baked on stuff on, leaving black bits all over food.

I have soda crystals, bicab, vinegar and a bottle of flash with bleach but thats it.

Sorry if post in wrong place

Whoops! I totally misread the post. :o Please disregard my previous advice....It will almost certainly be mouldy, but even if it isn't I'd definitely throw it out after six months in the fridge.

In the VERY long thread about 'preparing for winter' below there is a mention of a discount website for dry food but I just can't remember what its called so can't search for it.
can anyone PLEASE save me from trawling throw all 300+ pages,
    Thanks x
  • is it approved food? They sell products close to/past best before date.
  • thats the one thank you! I didn't realise they were past the bbd
  • They have a bit on the site where you click to exlude ones past bb date. the product only past it's best, not dangerous, past a bb date.

The kids want a treat of fried chicken and chips for tea tonight. I have drumsticks and have never tried this before. I don't have any eggs in to dip them in. Can I do it without? What do I need to coat them in?

And before you all jump on me......I know it's not a healthy meal, but we eat very healthily most of the time. This is just a very rare meal.

Managed to get my recipe from the allrecipes.com website while the forum was down.
Should be easy enough compared to what I was expecting. Toss in seasoned flour, fry. Simples!
