Day 4 has passed with no cosmetic splurges:j I also managed the NSD I was hoping for:beer:

Well done to dfw844 for resisting the 342 at that well known chemist. That is a major achievement in itself:beer: I did succumb to that one but it was before my 100 day challenge started. I am now doing my best to stay away from that chemist and all other local chemists.

It's so great to know that there are so many other cosmetic junkies out there. I'm not a freak, it's perfectly normal to own so many cosmetics:rotfl:

  • I'm doing OK without my fix of chocolate or magazines.

I went to work on Monday and somebody had brought in little Hershey bars so I helped myself to two of them

Then at lunchtime I picked up a free magazine from Superdrug and another one from the Early Learning Centre. They were both quite good (as well as being free)

I wanted to buy a present for somebody at work for doing a favour for me and as I couldn't buy him chocolate I bought some Jelly Beans from Julian Graves who have one of their half price sales on right now. He was pleased with the sweets and I was pleased to have paid 99p for them instead of £1.99 ;)

    It's going to be a long 100 days I reckon .......

poorandindenial - if the right clothes will improve your chances of getting the job (and I'm assuming new job= more money) then you need them. Obviously you try your friends first, then look through the charity shops (where I live there are loads of really smart clothes in there!) But if in the end you have to spend out to get a good return, then so be it!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Cheers hun, I had been thinking charity shops but the ones near me are normally not great for stuff to make an impression (or not the right one anyway - lol). Will take an old M&S item into Oxfam for a £5 voucher and then try for an M&S suit maybe. I'll try stuff on at the weekend too and maybe see if I can get away with a jacket over a dress that I already have or something.

Ho hum, once it is done it is done.

Hi everyone - Day 3 of no mag's and so far I've found it quite easy ;) apart from this evening - easily could have picked something up to read today!
  • Anyone know a good way for me to get all the soap gossip (and upcoming secret stuff!!) without me buying Inside Soap???? :( Saving £1.35 a week could do me good, but I know I'll be craving my soap "fix" and probably give in (I don't have TV license so no TV to catch the daily stuff!)

Also will give up weekly celeb mag - only get 99p one :D and can just go to magazine websites to catch up ;)

If only I could convince 4yr old DD to give up hers - nearly my two put together in cost *eep!!*

Inside soap have a website so check that out, plus it'll be updated more!! Also, The Sun website has celeb gossip to fill in the gaps.

I got addicted to hollywood gossip blogs afew months ago, constantly refreshing the pages! I think they're calling me again.
  • This morning is the start of day 5 for me and I have to say I am already struggling with not eating crap. I have so far resisted temptation but today is going to be a struggle.

It could be because I have been up since 5am though! :(

Don't be like me!! I have 6 different tubes of foundation :o:o Not one of them has made me look dewy, youthful and or luminous :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks Piquant, you are absolutely right. I have 4 tubes and none of them have made me look like a model either! Maybe I should take myself off the mailing list so I'm not tempted!

White Boots - The worst bit of it is, I know how they do those photos of the models. I do a similar thing for a living, yet I am taken in time and time again by the promise of the ad!

I must add that if I run out of leg shaving equipment, I'm buying!! I am not into forrestry...
