Another good day for me. I only went to the shops for some bread. I still haven't been near a chemist which is making the challenge relatively easy at the moment. I'm working all weekend so I'll be away from temptation for another 2 days:j

Poorandindenial if you think a new suit will increase your chances of getting the job then go for it. It will be totally worth it if you get the job. Good luck:D

Have totally got to join this challenge. Have enough make up, and toiletries to last me a year and yet I still buy more:p

So I will not buy any more until after Xmas.

I am also going to add in no more buying -

    - shoes
    - clothes (other than the party dress for my works night out)
    - chocolate (so I can fit into a smaller party dress ;) )
    - toys for my son as he has tonnes of stuff and it will be xmas soon
    - magazines
    - coffee shop coffees and snacks
    - take away food.

I don't buy these things all the time but even cutting out what I would have bought should save me loads.

right now I shall go and sort out my make up and clothes (have a few things that need repairing instead of throwing out and buying new).

    Hi all
Glad to see you are all doing so well - I have resisted temptation to buy anything so far this week although have surfed on eBay - window shopping - honest!! Also have looked at tempting clothes catalogues sent through the mail/email for online sales - but have hardened my heart & deleted the emails, or put catalogues in paper bin. I have a fancy function to go to in early Oct but have a dress I can wear that I wore before (different people at this one) plus sparkly shoes I already have, Just need to trawl massive wardrobe stocks for a suitable jacket/coat.

Now need to list some clothes stuff on eBay - have done that already with some toys that have been the spare room for years - they came along with something I bought at auction. Not in great condition, but already they are at £200+. Only danger then is that I think I can 'spend' this cash on more eBay stuff......have to be strong.

Will now go & make some 'bounty bites' instead of buying chocolate - it's cooking - right???

  • Morning All - was really craving crisps yesterday but thought of the challenge and didn't give in. Only another 96 days to go! If I keep going then by then I probably won't want crisps anyway.

Day 4 has passed with no cosmetic splurges:j I also managed the NSD I was hoping for:beer:

Well done to dfw844 for resisting the 342 at that well known chemist. That is a major achievement in itself:beer:

It's so great to know that there are so many other cosmetic junkies out there. I'm not a freak, it's perfectly normal to own so many cosmetics:rotfl:

Thanks Magni, you certainly aren't alone! I had to go to that chemist again today (wanted a new umbrella and had vouchers), it was so hard, but I resisted again! And they put all the lovely offers right by the till, and the queues were so long. Thanks for this challenge, it's keeping me strong!

  • Hey girls (and guys!)
I am doing well, I use up some of my shaving foam this morning and went straight to the next one that I had brought months ago! We went thru town today and I didn't buy anything. I didn't even go to Boots. x

i have just become an avon lady to be debt-free so dont make everyone stop buying its really good value with no parking or bus fare to include and helps breast cancer charity more than any other company
  • Being an avon rep is a balancing act,as you have to know you have enough commision to cover the cost of your brochures. Have to admit though I do recommend their anew eye cream (the white/orange one) Not the (green/white combination).
