Me too, I have only bought essential items. I have spent less than a fiver in the last 4 days:j That is amazing for me. Staying away from the shops will be the key to my success in this challenge I think.

Just coming on to update my challenge - no spends on any clothes/shoes/cosmetics so far....although I did have to pay for a new pair of specs. However, went to Tesco for free eye test & chose a pair that will be £40 all in (also get tesco points). Not cosmetic - essential to avoid killing other motorists. They did have some £15 frames but they really weren't very nice. Have also stayed away from eBay - except I listed all my stuff - 17 items in all - & they sold for a massive amount....gosh I wish I had an attic full of old dolls....

  • I have almost stuck to all my no spend items. I did buy a pair of fishnet stockings for a fancy dress costume at the weekend (so broken the clothes one) and accidentally bought a cheese and ham sarnie on friday night on the way to the pub (so broken the cheese one) but all of my misdemeanours have come to less than £4 so still feeling vaguely virtuous as I needed the stockings and if I hadn't had the roll then the night would have got very messy. Oh !!!!!!, just remembered 99p on a lipstick to go with the fancy dress outfit, that takes me up to a fiver on illicit spends.

Other than that, all going very well - lol

  • Here's my update...I've not done too badly at all! Had my BF goading me into having one of his mom's Chelsea Buns that I love. I actually refuse, until I realised that the challenge was to not BUY them...being offered them is perfectly fine! So I had two, lol.

I'm not actually bothered about the crisps so far. The weekends are the worst...I'm a sucker for those salt and vinegar Kettle Chips

Everyone seems to be doing really well! poorandindenial you're trying to give up so many things no-one blames you for a little slip, after all, one was accidental.

I say all this before my own confession... I've just remembered that I placed an online order before this challenge started that hasn't been delivered yet, and in it is an tube of handcream... In my defence, it was before this challenge (they just always take ages to post), and I do need it (very dry skin, especially now the heating is sometimes on at work).

Can I be forgiven? (And still use it of course). I'm getting ridiculously excited about it arriving because I HAD to go into Boots again at the weekend and the temptation was even stronger than usual. Must be because of this challenge! However, my willpower was stronger than usual - also because of this challenge so it really is working.

Bexterragga the buns story really made me laugh!

Doing okay so far, have so many half finished pots and bottles it's ridiculous (and embarrassing :o) Finished off two this morning, shampoo and conditioner, should finish off a moisturiser in the next day or so!
