Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

And you don't work for a PPC either so therefore by your logic you have no position to comment from, so why not go and find a thread on a topic where you have some experience that may be of benefit to others?
Probably had a plaster on his elbow at some time during junior school and now like half the country feels is disabled and worthy of a park on my head if you like permit.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

No, I'm very able bodied, and have never parked in a dissabled space because I'm not dissabled. If you aren't dissabled, then you shouldn't either.
What do you think gives you the right to park in them anyway?0 -

Breaking news! I am, do I wear a flag emblazoned on my vehicle to identify that fact? Not f**king likely, Do I expect to be able to park where I like when I like? Surprisingly not, do I think other disabled persons should have that right? No I don't.
To satisfy the inevitable challenge I have a degenerative spinal condition which will one day result in paraplegia, it hasn't yet and until it does I'll damn well walk into the supermarket under my own steam from whatever parking space is available whereever it is located in the car park, come the day I am unable to do so without the abilitiy of a walking aid which necesitates extra width I can still be accomodated by allowing me to park across bays for example, or further away from the entrance in one of the vast areas of empty spaces.
If the patrons of the car park decide not to park in designated disabled bays then they will be available for my use if not I'll just have to make do.
Not all disabled people subscribe to the blue badge scheme, just as well as it would be overwhelmed as there are far too many people without the remotest need for them already abusing the system. In any event a blue badge means diddly squat to a PPC.Four guns yet only one trigger prepare for a volley.Together we can make a difference.0 -

So at the moment you are able to walk without aid from the other side of the car park, so you don't take up the limited disabled parking spaces.......well good for you. I could actually use the P&C spaces when I have my son with me, but I don't because he is quite able to walk, so I leave those spaces for those who have prams and car seats, and need the extra space to open the door far enough.
One day however, you may be in the situation where you need a wheelchair and the extra space to open the door. So you may then need to park in dissabled spaces. And you wouldn't want them full of people who don't need them would you?0 -
If there are clear notices up then unfortunately he will have to pay the fine.
I dont know how they do it but we tried to wriggle out of paying a parking fine thinking they could never catch up with us and it doubled. We'd bought a ticket and were within the time frame but it had fallen on the floor.
They would have taken down his reg number and your details can be traced.0 -

For a start it's not a "fine" and it is illegal for a private individual (such as the supermarket or parking company) to demand a payment that bears no relation to the actual loss suffered by the "injured party". Don't forget this is civil and not criminal law and different rules apply. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

Remember - there are no rules to be broken.
If you read the many and various parking threads you will see that the PPCs do lie, do use scare tactics and do try to frighten people into paying. We all evolve - get on with it0
