Parking ticket in Asda car park - Is this legal, can they take me to court?

So what has your pov got to do with money saving?
If I had a car park business, then I would expect to collect the parking fees before people drove away.
If I tried it on like Asda do, I would expect to only get paid by a few gullibles, and should be ashamed of my business ethic!0 -

Why do people expect to get away without paying for a service that has been provided. And where a sign is displayed stating the terms and conditions of using that service?
It's like eating in a restaraunt, then leaving without paying, and expecting to get away with it. The penalties are there to stop people abusing the system. If someone overstays the time on the ticket, and has a good reason, then I'm sure the supermarket would be happy to wave the charge. But to just ignore any correspondence because they think they are smarter than the land owner will in the long run just make it worse for others when they do start to use clamps.
Using barriers would just cause congestion at the exit of the car park.
People should abide by the rules, or not use the service.0 -

Why do you see so many car parks with them? This is not a well reasoned argument.
Your POV just has no bearing on the point of this Board.
What are you doing here?
What is your opinion of people using coupons as cash, and the supermarkets accepting them (even though it says you mustn't on the coupons)?0 -

I would have thought that was obvious. A superstore would have far more traffic entering and leaving at busy periods than most other town centre car parks. This is because most people parking in the supermarket car park will only be shopping there, then will leave. Most people staying in town centre car parks will be there for far longer than those in the supermarkets. Also supermarket car parks are often bigger than most town centre ones that fill up too quickly. Supermarkets obviously want to have enough spaces for all their shoppers (the reason for the time limit on parking).Your POV just has no bearing on the point of this Board.

That's complete rubbish. You are trying to advise people how to get away without paying a legitimate charge.............I am saying why do people think they should have the right not to pay. What is your opinion of people using coupons as cash, and the supermarkets accepting them (even though it says you mustn't on the coupons)?
OFF TOPIC0 -
The question (as you know) was on the topic of your pious involvement in this thread.
Luckily, the OP has been given advice on the thread topic, and why you keep saying the charge is "legitimate", and so needn't be discussed here is unfathomable.0 -

The OP has been given advice on how to abuse the system...........if people don't like the rules, then they shouldn't use the service.
The disabled spaces are there for the use of disabled people. Parent and toddler spaces are there for the use of parents with babies or toddlers. Those are the rules set by the land owners. So follow the rules or don't use the services.
The penalties are there to put people off using the spaces that they aren't entitled to use. So if people don't have the respect for people who are entitled to use the spaces, then they shouldn't really complain when they get caught out, and then try to wriggle out of paying the charge.0 -
I think we know who/what you are.
Your points are totally irrelevant to the money saving ethos of this board.
There is no point continuing the discussion as you simply repeat the same opinions all the time.0 -

I have been involved in this thread for a long time, and most of the posters do tend to agree with me. You just don't like it because I don't agree with you.0 -
Your long term involvement is irrelevant - you have stated your pov (which itself is irrelevant to the thread), and the fact that you have support from others is also irrelevant.
The thread is to do with money saving, not moral issues.0 -

It's a forum, it covers a variety of issues. So stop trying to put people off who don't agree with you. From your POV most of this thread would be deleted.0
