Getting Even More Desperate

Hi Rubie,
Lovely sunny day here hope it is where you are as well, nice to see the sun and get the washing dry! without resorting to putting on heating to dry it. Mind you needed the heating on some nights as it was so cold.
Have you looked in your local paper for rented properties ie a private landlord, as you could then avoid some of those fees.
Okay what are they asking for. A months rent, or three months rent? It reads one months rent plus deposit which is £100 over the monthly rent! I know most take that and then when you leave they more than often keep it and say it is used for cleaning, replacing all those items YOU broke or damaged, only know as daughter had it happen twice, and they had broken nothing it was an empty flat.
I take it you are looking for unfurnished? Make sure you check if you are liable for the council tax as on one flat my daughter was on the other she was not it was in the rent amount.
Is the house going to cost more or less than you are paying now?
On the last part, like you I would not pay, I would write a stinking letter to them, asking why it has taken over 6 months to contact you, and that as you paid up front there was no credit limit on the account with them. Get tough Rubie, if nothing else BR or going into it makes you tougher.

Hiya Rylynn - how are today?
Yes it is lovely here too.... maybe Septembers are our new summers? better late than never i suppose and it lifts the spirits - suddenly I don't care who's gonna get me!! (Probably change my line of thinking by Monday!!)
If the rent is £800 and the deposit/bond is £900 (upfront) plus all those other fees!! But would they do a credit check on 16 year old? seems a bit unnecessary? I haven't looked at the local paper, just whats on the internet, but will check it out. Also on our website in work, sometimes people advertise. Worried about my credit check tho. By cancelling all credit card direct debits and maybe even my mortgage payments would give me enough to get started, but mean my credit rating will be ruined by then so its swings and roundabouts.... I am planning on £800 per month rent MAX, which is substantially cheaper than my mortgage payment of £1230. If I can get somewhere for £650/£700 that would be a real bonus. Yes would prefer unfurnished because have a lot of my own furniture to take with me (not to mention what my mother has collected over the years, and continues to collect and hoard!!!)
£27/£42, small fish compared to the rest so stuff 'em!!! I'll have to toughen up otherwise I'll crack!!!!0 -
You will toughen up and you will NOT crack!

I would just ignore it and not bother to write or phone them. After all if you are going to go bankrupt then it will just be included in that.Namaste DeeDee x0

Can anyone tell me how long it takes before your credit rating gets poor? (I've missed one month's payments on 5 out of 7 credit cards). I went to see a rental property yesterday and the agent will do a credit check at £29 per person. Should I be upfront about what's happening or just let them do the check and hope for the best.....0

The general concensus on here seems to be to be as honest as you can then it can not come back and bite your bum or lead to a major dissapointment.DxFree impartial debt advice available from: National Debtline - Tel: 0808 808 4000 | The Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) - Tel: 0800 138 1111 | Find your local Citizens Advice Bureau

Hello - thanks for replies.
I had my CCCS interview today at 1pm. It lasted about an hour. I felt sick all day yesterday and up all night worrying about it but the lady I spoke to was lovely and very helpful. I guess most of you know the process but she went through my I&E and suggested I'd need to find £445 to pay off my creditors in 10 years. If I couldn't afford that, then it would take longer. She then went on to tell me that I could go BR. I told her I'd accepted that I was going to lose my house and that I'd looked at rental, I asked her if I should be up front, and she said most definitely. Im a bit depressed about this, because we're looking at Bungalows because my mum's coming with me - but they are few and far between to be honest and the one I saw on the weekend is ideal and not too far away from where I live now. She also said I'd probably lose the car and that they 'might let me' have a cheap runaround for getting my mum back and forth to hospital, but they might not - how do they know if you get a car?0 -
Okay Rubie, do not despair, cannot remember do you work? how much is your car worth? is it on HP?
On the rental front, I am sure someone will tell you here it will not take just weeks for you to lose your home. However would you be better to rent now before BR and not say anything, let them do the checks and then take a bungelow and pay for the fees and move in.
I think with any legal body they are going to have to advise you to be up front, however you also dont want it to come back and hit you between the eyes either.
Also do you mean "how do they know you have a car" easy the DVLA. Is the car in your name, do you own it?Some Days are Diamonds Some Days are Stones,Sometimes the hard times won't leave meBSC 162:beer:Banktupt 22 Oct 2008 at 10am!0 -

The mortgage payment is huge - glad it's not mine - sorry that's not much help but it's a massive expense !
£450 for groceries - is there just the two of you? If so, this can be cut down considerably.
£60 for holiday fund - this isn't a necessity at the moment
£28 for haircuts - seems quite high
* apologies* just read the bottom of your post so some questions already answered x
You will find there is a lot of people on here who pay £1,000.00 per month on their mortgage if not more just like this person.£400.000 groceries per month for a family of 5 in our house, so easily can reduce.£ 0 - no need for holiday payments, £ 0 - haircut in our house, lucky though as sister in law treams the kidsAll the best:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0
